Yeah my biggest regret is not realizing this earlier, I've been playing catchup since...but thankfully get a matched 401k to contribute to...still have my Roth IRA though, anytime I change jobs the 401k gets dumbed there if new company doesn't offer 401k to roll into.

Even setup the wife with her own Roth IRA...only sadly not able to max it out.
If you do $5k per year starting at age 30, and you average 7% interest per year, you'll have almost $700k at age 65, tax free. That's about $4k/month in tax free income until you're 90 years old. Not bad.

I retired in mid July.
I caught up everything that needed to be done around the house in less than a month.

I'm thinking about finding another job.

Go volunteer at your local food bank or cooperative Christian ministry. You'll get to work, but also get to serve. That’s what I want to do anyway. Love seeing the retired guys at mine when I make a donation.

Or coach, or substitute teach, lots of fun "jobs" you can do that are more enjoyable than what most of our careers are.

Saw someone earlier mention Lawgator which reminds me of all those gators that use to live on this site.

Can’t remember all their names now but there were several who frequented here. Hmm wonder what happened to them?

As I recall Lawgator was the best of those who posted here..
Karma for all of their trolling over the years. F them and whats going on in gainesville is glorious.

Crazy idea...job working at a gym. Benefits being you get access to said gym and can find time throughout your work shift on "breaks" to get your lifting/cardio in during the day...

or just go to the gym and take your time before you go home and work on the next great american novel before going to see a movie or taking a hike.

I mean sure I guess...but retired job in a gym 4-6 hours is pretty laid back and they let their employees workout on the clock as long as it's not for an extended period...
