Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I see post after post online from Vol fans who are now priced out of seeing the Vols play in Neyland Stadium so forgive me if I find it a little tone-deaf for 247 to say this in regards to the new schedule:

"That average 4% price increase isn’t looking so bad now."

Do you think those fans ever complained about the team not winning games?

Bc this is what it takes.

Psh we can't even beat Georgia. Or even stay competitive with them.

Sad, but we've probably peaked as a program. Years ago we at least would have challenged them and wiped the floor with a program like Syracuse.

If anyone still thinks we're as good as CFP-level ASU, after giving up nearly 4 TDs vs Birmingham High School, then maybe we still have a chance this Saturday. I'm not sold!!

It's really not here or there for me, but it just seems really intentionally obtuse for 247 to say something like that. Clearly they are supporting the University narrative. The repercussions of pricing the common fan out of going to football games in Knoxville can only be imagined at this point, but I expect there will be some.

I just listened to the russillo podcast. The guy he had on works with elite 11 and other quarterback camps. This man straight up trashed arch Manning. He mentioned that archd didn't want to go to these camps because he didn't want to be evaluated and he looked really good going against " short fat guys in 3A football'. He then went on to say, "but you can't bench a manning".

that's absurd.

100% expect DJ not to play another snap for Billy.

Remaining schedule
vs 10 Texas
at 9 Texas A&M
vs Miss State
vs 5 Georgia
at Kentucky
at 13 Ole Miss
vs 15 Tennessee
vs 8 FSU

He's originally a Texas kid wouldn't surprise me at all if we never get a "done for the season" but he's always questionable. He can still RS this year as well. If I was a betting man....DJ ends up in the portal after this season and likely him playing for another P4 school in Texas next year.
He grew up 2 hours from Baylor and Sawyer Robinson is graduating this year.

My grandad would hold his hand to my head and ask, 'are you feelin' alright?'

I don’t like what it does to the atmosphere at Neyland. Still very strong obviously but I pointed out last season how often the big money seats lacked butts in them. It even looks terrible while there and on tv.

But the times they are a changin. DW isn’t trying to just keep up, he’s trying to lead. Every other serious program eventually follows. And the UT athletic dept benefits from that mindset.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet but DJ Lagway has been walking around in a walking boot this week. Florida's fan base is speculating that he's fixing to shut it down for the season.

Assuming he doesn't play again and they end up with a losing record, I believe this should justify keeping Sun Belt Billy another year since it's difficult to win in the SEC without your starting quarterback. Plus, the Florida fans all fear he will transfer if they don't keep Billy.

Arch Manning walks & runs with this toes pointed out. That should've been all anyone needed to know.

Do you think his mechanics at this stage of his development exposes Sark as a poor QB coach? Ewers never looked that great mechanically either and underachieved given his physical ability. It just doesn't make sense to me otherwise. Sark is signing off on his development if he isn't personally responsible for it.

I think he's probably just dumb and not quite the athlete the other mannings were. . .

he probably needed to be one of those QB's that starts for 3 years, sucks the 1st two and finally starts to figure it out in yr3.

I'd tend to agree with you had I not actively seen him regress mechanically year-over-year. That's hard to explain any other way than he's getting poor coaching, if what we're being told is true and he's not injured. If he's not injured, woof. He doesn't even look average.
