Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

LSU, Gumps, Texas and Auburn at home next year?

Sign me up.

Each and every one of those have a shot of being a night game lol this is going to be crazy. I hope Faizon or whoever is QB next year is ready for the moment. We’re gonna be on national tv like every week and recruiting opportunities will be absolutely insane.

I’d be surprised if Heupel doesn’t bring in a veteran QB to push GMac and Faizon next year and to be some insurance.

Why do so many coaches try to do nepotism. Never understood it.
I can understand giving them their break so they get experience, letting them be an assistant and learn the profession, then use that as a springboard to opportunities they wouldn't have gotten without that experience.

But shoehorning them straight to the top without ever actually stretching their wings away from the shelter of daddy, that's just setting them up for failure. Pearl should go be an assistant somewhere and prove he's got what it takes to be a P5 HC.

SEC, what have you done… This is the freaking gauntlet. Unless they are bargaining to give the sec 4 guaranteed playoff spots and the ability for more, I don’t see how this helps the conference and their members, based on post season authorities clearly valuing win totals over strength of schedule.

Virginia Tech fans are getting excited about this "proposed" increase in their athletic budget but they don't seem to understand none of this is NIL! None of this buys you a better roster. Nick Saban would not have been Nick Saban without superior players. VaTech proposes adding $229M for athletics
I mean if you’re behind in the game you’re behind. Upgrading facilities probably is the first step to retaining talent. Focus on attracting them once you have something besides a few bucks to keep them there, because NIL alone is a losing proposition and one that is probably harder to get booster funding for without a long term vision including moves like the one in the link posted.
