Mine too, based on when you grew up that skews people's ideas of what that means.Free market, limited government, individual responsibility. Sh*t like that.
Well, for one thing, Kimmel was obviously never really "fired."This goes to show you can't tell an idiot the truth. Trump had nothing to do w/the firing.
Maybe he turned around and agreed to tone down the rhetoric. It was always the right thing to do. Some things are more important than scoring political points.Well, for one thing, Kimmel was obviously never really "fired."
"Temporarily suspended" is more accurate.
For another thing, the reasons for the very brief suspension of Kimmel's show is really not for you, me or anyone else but Disney/ABC to say. They are the ones who handed down the suspension, and then brought Kimmel back. Let's just wait and see if Robert Iger addresses the matter. I think he should.
Okay BB. We get your POV. We saw it the first sentence you wrote in this thread.Brendan Carr desperately wants everyone to believe that his threats didn't play a role in Kimmel's suspension. Carr wants to play mind-reader and say that it only concerned the Neilsen ratings for "Jimmy KImmel Live!" ..... but if that was true, would Disney/ABC be bringing the show back so fast? The ratings for "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" have obviously not changed since the show was suspended last week.
Brendan Carr looks like a horse's a$$ right now. The Trump Administration is a "Yes, men" clown show .... and Carr is Bozo.
Never once have I watched Kimmel other than some clips. Really haven’t watched any late night tv guys with any regularity since Conan and Letterman stepped away, mostly because you could see them becoming more and more political in their monologues. A funny political joke from time to time is great, plenty of content there to use from politicians. Problem was their monologues became borderline unhinged, vindictive lectures. Now everybody can go back to not watching the Jimmy Kimmel show.
He should acknowledge his poor choice of words that MAGA folks “characterized” the killer as not one of them. He was not a MAGA guyI hope he bifurcates it. Says first he meant no disrespect of Kirk's memory and he grieves with her since Kirk was silenced, as he was, for his speech. Apologize.
Then turn and call out Trump and the FCC head for their obvious threats and attempt to manipulate to get him off the air because he routinely bashes Trump. Then bash Trump, i.e. tell the truth about Trump, for the next ten minutes.
Tell Trump, effectively, to go F himself.
Maybe Brendan Carr is slowly realizing that his threats against ABC were a mistake, but rather than apologize for them, Carr is trying to excuse them with speculation that his threats played no part in the suspension of Kimmel's show ..... but that's not for Carr to say. Only Disney/ABC (specifically Disney CEO, Robert Iger) can clear that up.Maybe he turned around and agreed to tone down the rhetoric. It was always the right thing to do. Some things are more important than scoring political points.
Maybe, doesn't really have a thing to do with my post though.Maybe Brendan Carr is slowly realizing that his threats against ABC were a mistake, but rather than apologize for them, Carr is trying to excuse them with speculation that his threats played no part in the suspension of Kimmel's show ..... but that's not for Carr to say. Kimmel needs to clarify his comments, and he needs to say that his emphasis should have been on the loss of life, and an expression of condolences to Charlie Kirk's widow, who has shown incredible strength and grace in the aftermath of her husband's senseless murder. The best thing Kimmel could ever do is invite her on his show, and be as nice as he can possibly be to her.He should acknowledge his poor choice of words that MAGA folks “characterized” the killer as not one of them. He probably needs to stay away from politics all together and just try and be funnyKimmel needs to clarify his comments, and he needs to say that his emphasis should have been on the loss of life, and an expression of condolences to Charlie Kirk's widow, who has shown incredible strength and grace in the aftermath of her husband's senseless murder.
