Charlie Kirk Shot and killed

I was watching at my parents house, about halfway through they went outside during Trumps speech, he started campaigning in the middle of it.
I think the problem with Trump, someone shouldve written a speech for him, told him you have 10 minutes and got him out of there. Instead they let him Ad Lib and he cant help himself but to do what he does.
Trump with an open mic is a train wreck waiting to happen.

I don't disagree with your reasoning. Youth votes seldom materialize and I am not sure the youth vote has ever decided an election. But you are talking about regional elections and not national. I think the chances are higher for them to impact locally rather than nationally.

Agreed. If it can keep Texas, Virginia, and Charlies home state of Arizona solid Republican though...the Dems have virtually no path to the presidency in 28 assuming the other states fall along their normal party lines. Congress is always so close that even swinging a couple districts nationally could be the difference between a red or blue majority in either house. Will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

Agreed. Trump opened very well and on point for the occasion. And also closed in proper context and fashion. In between he sounded like he was stumping and it had no place there yeaterday. Seems the crowd was disengaing by the level of applause during the wandering in the desert segment, and he didn't notice. Also went way too long. Also though it would have been more appropriate to the occasion for the widow to have last say. Maybe it was her say for him to go last, but for me and who I am, if I were POTUS I would have yeilded to the widow regardless.

Also strange...I saw no sign of the 1st Lady & Odd event for him and Elon to chat and shake hands.

Top 3 for me were Gabbard, Rubio, Vance in no particular order (other than Erika). I struggled speaking at my mom and dads funeral. Couldn't imagine doing what she did.
Yeah Gabbard and especially Rubio were may favorites.

Well, Gabbard did have on that white suit of hers.

I may be in the conservative minorty, but I think if Rubio enters the contest he will be a very strong opponent to Vance. A Rubio/Gabbard ticket could be interesting. Rubio just strikes me as super genuine now that he has aged and matured and got separation from the 2016 campaign. Vance will be hte popluar kid on the block. Don't know if he wil be able to stump without invoking Trump too much. Those wanting to move past that and just see Vance on his two feet may not get to see that. THe one that can gain momentum w/o over invoking Trump will pull away. However hte TPUSA backing will carry weight.

He would be a hell of a lot better than Vance

I never insinuated that. It ended with a question mark. (pretty important punctuation)
Do you view the left as an enemy that needs to be defeated?
And do you believe what you said???? That I have a desire to see people with different beliefs die.

It’s on a continuum.

You do make radical statements.

AZ is not solid Republican at all. It did go strong for Trump over Kamala, but that's likely just a result for that place in time. Trump is not polling well in AZ in 2025.

No one's ever accused Trump of being a unifier. He has a lot of skills. That's not one of them. To be fair Biden and Obama weren't unifiers either

Trump is in a class by himself on this. I think Vance, and definitely Rubio, are better able to walk that line.

I personally know a number of people that are representative of the best and the brightest among the 20-30 year old range.
The days of a wanna be king hanging banners of himself on federal buildings while silencing the press and federalizing cities are not likely to continue much longer.

Do you know something that we don’t?

I think so. IMO, He and Gabbard both had excpetionally polished speeches and deliveries, and stuck to the heart of the matter for the occasion. And they are both incredibly straight forward for their chosen professions.

Agreed, but I think Rubio has a slight edge. Lot of people are writing Vance in already, and I'd not complain, but if they both play, Rubio gets my first round vote as of right now.

Vance is natrally in a tougher spot.

I think the Left made a mistake 10-15 years ago. What might have started as a well-intentioned way of lifting up minorities and women quickly escalated into demonizing white men. They created Charlie Kirk to an extent. I don't even think I realized how big a voice he was to young men, especially white men. But it makes sense, that if 1 political group is consistently telling you how awful you are just because of your gender and skin tone, you're probably going to choose the other political party.
IDK about that. My son who is mid-20s, once told me the reason he did not apply to MIT was because he was white. He went to Rice instead (we live in the Houston area) and has worked in my company since graduation. Yet he has a bad case of TDS which my wife believes he caught from his sister (she’s 2 years older, went to Georgetown, and works for an NGO in DC).

That guy was awful. Everbody calling trump a Nazi has never seen that guy. Talk about adding zero value to a celebration of life, and based on that display probably not much else.
He's one of trump's top advisors..........

I agree. What a different world this would be if we adequately addressed all of the mental illnesses permeating our society.
That's the problem with YOUR party. You are fine identifying a problem... but then you do nothing about it. For example your 'background checks' for owning a firearm. You would theoretically identify someone as loony or dangerous, then what? You offer NO solutions after the initial identification.
