I love Heup as our coach. But this is the area that causes me the most heartburn. I realize there are a lot of unknowns that only the staff would have access. Maybe G-Mac plans to leave after the season with Brandon coming in.

That said, none of us would be happy with Heup and staff if JA had not been signed. He is in his fifth season as HC and his current back-up who would have been the starter is not good at all. Yet, he has an obvious future starter sitting behind him. Not a good look IMO.
I think it was pretty clear that they were going to bring in a starting caliber QB after Nico. It’s why the Big 12 QB’s and Altmyer were thrown around. But reports were that a QB was coming in to compete. I get the playing time debate, which is a separate issue. But juggling these things in this era is not easy.

I think it’s just fine for this year. Merk is physically the most ready, so he’s #2. Mac is the heir apparent, but he’s gonna get folded up like a cheap lawn chair if he gets hit. That boy needs some peanut butter and Barb’s dip. He will be the starter next year, Merk will likely leave, and all will be as planned.

Yet another example of fans making proclamations about a player they’ve only seen play extremely limited snaps and read camp reports about.

I can assure you there is a plan. And that Heup knows what he’s doing.

Not enough time in the day...

Chad Brinker. Callie. Assistant Coaches. Amy - handed it all to Brinker because she is clueless apparently.

Did I say Callie? What a crap O system and play caller. What crap in-game decisions. What crap team discipline with all the penalties.

Even the defense is under performing now and it was a team strength last year.

Don't have time for all of the player issues, but key injuries are not helping. Which means the back-ups suck.

They have the right QB. Score one for the new GM. Then deduct one from him for signing Moore at LT.

It appears they will be picking early again unless something weird and fortuitous happens. But with who they have running the team it may not help.
The rookie class looks to be really good. If Oladejo and Winston hit could be the best class from the 25 draft. Ward, Dike, Helm and Ayomanor are a really good group from the class.

Callahan and his dad need to be gone today, hand it over to Fassel. Hearing Michael Pittman talking about the Titans in warm ups makes me think they may not win a game this year.

Obviously Heupel knows Mac is better than Merk. The question you should be asking is why he isn't playing, or more to the point, it should be obvious there is a reason. I don't think he does that without intent.
If Aguilar has to miss time, he can still redshirt mac if it's just a couple games. Also gives mac time to add a few more lbs during the season, imo.

Ill be frank, at this point. I promise i'm gonna leave the coaching to Josh Hypeful, and not second guess.

I went 9-4 Saturday so overall a happy weekend. Then went 5-2 yesterday in NFL.

Mentally prepared for baseball bets to wreck me this week lol
I was 5-0 on the air guitar championships. . . but only 3-2 on the Superhole III tournament. Still not bad. . .

. . . just learned that "Superhole III" is a cornhole tournament. . .

I read somewhere that the plan from the start was redshirt this year, for Mac. I believe the family really wanted this also.

Someone quoted a booster on South Carolina's 247 board claiming that Beamer wanted to hire a new OL coach in the offseason, but did not because the OL room threatened to transfer. Fans are saying he should have let them transfer because they are all bums, but the OL would have been worse if they had, because you can't attract 5 better in the portal at South Carolina. I don't care who you hire.
