I will say this one more time ....I agree. The concerns of the executives were enhanced after Carr's statements. All of that syncs with your timeline.
The ABC execs were also getting pressure from affiliates who had already decided to pre-empt JK's show before Carr made statements.
You may be right on both accounts.I will say this one more time ....
There really would be nothing to see here without FCC Chairman Brendan Carr's threats. Will he lose his job over this? Of course not.
You have. You are the one who brought better understanding of what he actually said and how poorly worded it was.I have talked about that too. It was clumsy and it leant itself to misinterpretation. He should swallow his pride and clarify what he was saying. Kimmel has a big ego. No doubt about it.
Populist Presidents are inherently stupid and appeal to the lesser educated lowest common denominators that support them.Whenever Trump is responding to criticism .... he will always refer to the person who is being critical of him as some combination of the following:
1) Overrated
2) Lowly-rated
3) Ratings-challenged
4) Failing
5) Failed
6) Terrible
7) Horrible
8) Pathetic
9) Disgusting
Whenever Trump is describing something he has done, or something that one of his sycophants has done .... he will always refer to it as some combination of the following:
1) Beautiful
2) Big
3) Perfect
4) Brilliant
Trump is so repetitive and boring. He seems particularly obsessed with always discussing the Neilsen ratings. It wouldn't be so annoying if his minions didn't have to follow his lead on everything. All we hear about anymore are "ratings." It's bizarre. I'm sure the people at Neilsen love it though.
Trump and his supporters seem to be suggesting that Carr's ultimatum to ABC was justified, because Jimmy Kimmel's show (supposedly) doesn't perform well in the Neilsen ratings. That is ridiculous. "Ratings" don't belong anywhere in this discussion. There is no justification for Brendan Carr's threats against ABC.Populist Presidents are inherently stupid and appeal to the lesser educated lowest common denominators that support them.
Trump's 2nd grade vocabulary and limited diction is like music to the ears of the MAGA cultists. Sadly, they're largely too dumb to even understand how Donald works against them and our Republic.
The good news is we really only have 1.5 years left til Congress will be retaken by Dems... Effectively neutering Donnie. Then again I wonder if he'll even make it that long.
That is either wishful-thinking to an extreme or just plain delusional ..... LOL.You will lose seats in both chambers.
That Trump is so thin skinned and clearly can't take the slings and arrows of comedians is hilarious in and of itself.Trump and his supporters seem to be suggesting that Carr's ultimatum to ABC was justified, because Jimmy Kimmel's show (supposedly) doesn't perform well in the Neilsen ratings. It is embarrassing that the President of the United States allows himself to get involved in back-and-forth, public name-calling taunts with entertainment industry celebrities. That Trump is so thin skinned and clearly can't take the slings and arrows of comedians is hilarious in and of itself.

Can you imagine any other President doing that? It should be beneath him, but Trump is like a child. No level of pettiness or immaturity is beneath him.
