Jimmie Kimmel Show gone !

There has been a rebuttal to that posted.
You do realize a company can make a choice about something and it be done before a public announcement right?? According to those involved that is what happened. Now you can try to interpret why or how but unless you were involved your only taking a 3rd parties word for it.

I believe you misunderstood the exchange.

I try my best not to deal in lies.
However, I also think too much of an issue is being made of Sinclair.

Carr;s threats are problematic, not because of Sinclair ... but for two other reasons :

1) Car's threats came BEFORE ABC announced their decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

20 Carr's threats came BEFORE Nexstar made their own announcement concerning their affiliates. In this matter, Nexstar is much more relevant than Sinclair, because it is Nexstar who needs the FCC to make a major change in policy in order for them to complete a pending merger.

The Trump apologists are trying to make Sinclair relevant to Carr's threats, because it best serves their defense that Carr's threats weren't a factor in the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! ....... but Sinclair isn't important here, This is about ABC and Nexstar.

Of course, that is what Nexstar is going to say because they want to stay in good standing with the FCC. Their announcement came after Carr's comments. So did the announcement fro Sinclair.
It's a free country. You are allowed to assign motive, intent, or psychic ability to anyone's statement. But that assignment doesn't mean you have an increased understanding, an indisputable claim, or are correct.

The FCC has been allowing ncreased consolidation (deregulation) over 2 decades. Both Trump and Carr favor deregulation. There is nothing credible suggesting Nexstar was in bad standing with the FCC.

Has ABC said that? I don't think so. At least not yet.

There would be nothing to see here .... if Brendan Carr had kept his mouth shut .... but he didn't.

Inappropriate and uncalled for.
LOL.

Do you realize how many cheap shot comments I have had directed at me on here over the years concerning my alcohol addiction? I don't recall you ever saying these words to anyone who made those comments. If you did? I apologize.

It's good you're thinking. I disagree with your conclusions because public announcement =/= discussion and decision made before announcement was made public. And I have not found anything saying the acquisition was in jeopardy.

According to this even Disney and Iger made the choice because the 17th... Is was already discussed over the weekend and finalized when Kimmel refused to apologize... It just want publicly announced..

Cheap shots at your addiction and health problems are also uncalled for. I have been very supportive of your sobriety efforts. I believe i have admonished posters who have stooped that low.
He took a shot at a position you took which you have already said you were wrong about. I think at that time we all had a little fun about it.
We all say we want improved discourse. Well, it's up to each of us to improve it.

I'm down for an Avvy bet on that if you are.

Between redistricting, illegals being removed, the new census, and the Dems hemorrhaging voters, I suspect a bloodbath in both the midterms and the presidential election. And with the Dems tripling-down on saying stupid **** after/about CK, I suspect they're only making it worse by multiples.
Illegals haven't voted, despite what some republicans claim. But if that's a rally cry go for it.
Trump nearly took the Latino vote, made it close. It will not be close next election. Republicans took 77% of the farm vote. Many are staring bankruptcy in the face now due to Trump. Republicans won't get close to that next election. And the "groceries will be cheaper" lie willbe remembered by millions of voters. No Republicans should enjoy while they can, change is coming.

That article does nothing but prove my point, with this paragraph :

"But it wasn't until Wednesday afternoon, after FCC chair Brendan Carr went onto a conservative podcast and threatened to pull affiliate broadcast licenses that the matter really escalated. Then Nexstar - the station group which airs "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" in approximately two dozen markets - announced they would not air the show."

Did you guys read that part? As well as the other paragraphs which show that Carr's threats played a factor? Good lord. That made my point better than I could. That article is a self-own.

Yes. They announced publicly. The discussion and decision happened the day before.

I never said a thing in that post about illegals voting. Tell me you haven't studied up on the issues facing the Dems without telling me you haven't studied up on the issues facing the Dems.

So, no avi bet?

Which "their" are you referencing? ABC? Nexstar? Sinclair?
Disney and ABC.

.... if you read the rest of that article, it becomes clear that Carr's threats were weighed. Disney/ABC understand the power that he has, and they felt intimidated by it. That article makes my case for me better than I ever could have. Thanks.

Then why would you claim illegals being removed would affect the outcome.

Will accept any bet you want.

I agree. The concerns of the executives were enhanced after Carr's statements. All of that syncs with your timeline.
The ABC execs were also getting pressure from affiliates who had already decided to pre-empt JK's show before Carr made statements.
