The FCC directed ABC to punish Jimmy Kimmel over his monologue Monday or else face retribution.

And now ABC suspended him.

Free speech remains a Constitutional right in this country, despite Trump's authoritarian efforts to squash it and the Judicial Branch. Kimmel's material broke no laws and is protected by the 1st Amendment. If you support this FTC mob action, then you oppose free speech. It's that simple.

Disney owns ABC, ESPN, Hulu and obviously a bunch of other stuff. Since Disney executives lack the spine to stand up to Trump's bullying, it's time to hit them in the pocketbook.

Given prior comments from many in the MAGA cult about Disney's "wokeness", this action should be received with open arms even by the ruby red right.

Here's a list of the companies, products and services to boycott:

BOYCOTT DISNEY

9/22/25 EDIT: Disney announces Kimmel show will return. Cancel culture worked. Boycott called off.

Sorry my phone doesn’t like sharing X for some reason, but it’s funny Sinclair is showing a tribute to Charlie instead of Jimmy.

So the fact that Nexstar & Sinclair the two biggest media companies that own the majority of network affiliates announced they were pulling the show prior to ABC announcing they were suspending the show has nothing to do with it?🤔🤷‍♂️

Anxiously awaiting the ABC statement confirming the FCC "directed them to fire Kimmel or face retribution". Seems they would defend themselves if this happened.

"The MAGA Gang (is) desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said. “In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving.”

The ABC late-night host’s remarks constituted “the sickest conduct possible,” FCC chair Brendan Carr told right-wing podcaster Benny Johnson on Wednesday. Carr suggested his FCC could move to revoke ABC affiliate licenses as a way to force Disney to punish Kimmel.

“We can do this the easy way or the hard way,” Carr said. “These companies can find ways to change conduct and take actions on Kimmel, or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.”

And speaking on Fox Wednesday night, Carr suggested broadcasters would see more of this kind of pressure in the future.

“We at the FCC are going to force the public interest obligation. There are broadcasters out there that don’t like it, they can turn in their license in to the FCC,” Carr said. “But that’s our job. Again, we’re making some progress now.”

it is an interesting point in the FCC forced them narrative. the affiliates balked first. like I said above, if ABC felt threatened by the FCC they could bring that forward and would have a tremendous amount of support for their case. this coming from downstream blows up that narrative

again, all ABC/Disney needs to do is bring the proof forward that this is WHY they did it. Then they have to explain why the affiliates made the decision PRIOR to Disney/ABC on Kimmel.

I don't support Carr's comments but the narrative you've crafted simply doesn't fit.

Where’s your evidence that the FTC directed the firing?

I've done told - not my problem you can't follow it.
Heh. Well you're welcome to believe that the tail wags the dog. In reality, Disney ultimately calls the shots here. We'll see if this was actually vetted by top brass or not shortly, I imagine.

In the meantime, I suspect they'll be hearing displeasure from many directions in many ways...

He’s not been charged with any crime. No one is claiming he broke a law. Thus no charges

Can you provide it

In an interview on The Benny Show podcast, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr called Kimmel's comments "some of the sickest conduct possible" and part of a "concerted effort to lie to the American people." He warned that ABC and Disney could "find ways to change conduct and take action, frankly, on Kimmel, or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead." Carr suggested potential FCC remedies, including pursuing news distortion claims against ABC affiliates, suspending Kimmel, or even revoking broadcast licenses if the network did not act. He framed this as enforcing broadcasters' "public interest" obligations under FCC rules.

It's pretty simple, Disney could avoid that displeasure by coming out and saying the were directed by the FCC to suspend Kimmel. Wanna place a bet of them doing this?

The same interview where he said an apology would be a good start? I’m seeing nowhere where he said “they have to fire this man”.
