Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I agree that it's a long shot. I honestly see no scenario we don't make it at 10-2 though. The 9-3 scenario requires a lot of dominoes to fall our way. I say we just go 12-1 with a SEC championship that would make us the number one seed. A man can dream.
Is it weird that I’d prefer a 5 seed so we get a home game? I know it’s less likely you win a national championship because there is an extra game to play- but do we really trust the powers that be won’t eventually pull these first round playoff games off of campuses? I want to see one in Neyland before they shut it down.

One field goal and this wouldn't feel unlikely at all.

I want an SEC title. It's been too long.

Ya I definitely think 10-2 puts us in. Gonna be a fun season

I think JA is doing it on purpose, so I won’t knock the throw. Pope talks about JA’s passes being “catchable” and I think that’s what he means: the ball turns over and comes down in a way that gives the WR a great chance to make the play. UGA’s DBs panicked in single coverage twice when the ball was slower than expected, and Brazzell played through the contact really, really well. When there’s a safety, however, the ball was picked pretty easily. It’s darn effective in certain situations. I wonder of teams will adjust or if JA will take some of the arc out.
To be fair, your guy ran over our WR on the play that was picked. Kinda made it hard for him to come back to the ball. Also, it wasn’t Brazzell on that play.

Anyone else concerned with the lack of forced turnovers so far this year? We only have 3 and that was all because of our dl

What I'm saying is he did struggle in game 1 but has appeared to be doing better since. I think his stats would support this.
I think this forum has shown there to be a wide difference of opinion on what’s a catchable ball ranging from “if it doesn’t hit him in the numbers it’s not a drop” to “if he got his hands on the ball then it should have been a catch”. Debating the number of drops is pointless since we may be discussing different things.

Yes, I have seen improvement since Syracuse. To me he still has the least reliable hands of our 3 starters to date. He is the best blocker of the 3. JMO, TIFWIW

I'm just hoping Golesh doesn't end up at Florida. I'd hate that. Go to an ACC team or a Big 10 team. Somewhere I can wish him the best. If he lands in the SEC, I have to wish him nothing but failure.
Agreed. For the following reasons:

1. Regardless of who Florida’s coach is, I am morally and ethically obligated to hate him, and

2. I really really REALLY hope he sucks.

Golesh is therefore a bad fit for Florida because

1. I don’t hate him, and

2. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t suck.
