Week 4: Ark. @ Memphis

Going to the Ark-Memphis game this weekend (managed to get a free ticket, and it’s a closer drive for me). I feel safe enough not being totally focused on the Vols-UAB game since we are heavy favorites, I’ll still be keeping up with it though.

Hogs (2-1; 0-1) open as a -6.5 favorite. Memphis (3-0) has looked solid, especially with a 28-7 win over Troy on the road. ESPN FPI gives Arkansas a 59.7% chance to win. What say you?

I say we cheer for the Hogs, would rather them be a respectable opponent and potential win (knock on wood) for us later in the season.

I like Memphis and will be cheering for them as an in state team. I really enjoyed watching them beat Ole Miss several times a while back until Ole Miss got scared and cancelled the series.

Memphis always seems to catch an SEC team every few years. They beat Miss. State a couple years ago too.

Just looked this up… Memphis leads the all-time series against Arkansas 3-2, despite the teams not meeting since 1998.

Kiffin has mastered non-conference scheduling. Don’t make it so bad that it invites a ton of scrutiny (Indiana), but don’t schedule a game you might lose either.
