Same for me. The drive, the hotel, tickets for everybody, gas and food… it’s a grand to get up to a game against an FCS team anymore. I’d love to go more but simply can’t afford to

I see Danny White is taking the blame but there has to be other people responsible for this. I do not trust what we are being told. Seeing is believing here on this topic. They always tell us they are going to fix things and it doesn't happen or takes forever. I'll believe it when I see it, but it truly is inexcusable.

Many garages are a total **** show too. Namely G17 and the one beside it. Lake avenue DOES NOT MOVE and people are literally trapped in these garages for up to hours without moving. Not only embarrassing and inexcusable, but it is a urgent public safety issue.

Someone had a medical emergency outside of gate 21 about 30 minutes before kickoff and personnel was scrambling to even get to the person. Not sure how they even got the person out. Just a total disaster.

Completely agree. I'm in S, used to take 20 seconds to get to my seat after entering what is now a "non premium ticket holder gate" (that no one uses anymore!), up a half flight of stairs, across the concourse and into seats on row 30. Now I get to go in with the masses. And I'm also in G17 which is the worst garage on campus. 2 1/2 hours and didn't move. Finally exited the garage after 10:30pm and they route you across campus to Neyland drive instead of letting you use Cumberland or 17th. Ridiculous to take 4 hours to get back to West Knoxville!

I sit in DD. I entered around back at Gate 22. One of my tickets scanned on my iPhone apple wallet, then both my tickets were scanning as 'used." The lady was going to deny my 15 year old son entry, but it finally accepted it after trying about 5 times. After climbing the ramps and getting to the top level where the ZZ sections are located, I tried to walk towards our DD/EE entrance. The elevators are located up there with about 15 ft of fenced off area blocked off for the people who get off the elevators. That only leaves about 5 feet of concourse for thousands of people to try to squeeze through there going opposite directions. I was stuck for about 10 minutes with no movement, and I only saw one person get off the elevator during that time. Lots of people missed kickoff due to that cramped area. People near me bought beer at the auto scan section behind ZZ at halftime, and it wasn't cold. They must have restocked those coolers with warm beer before halftime. We still have troughs in the restrooms behind DD, so those lines moved efficiently! I took forever to exit out of our section and down the ramps at the end.

Same experience here Last week vs what I heard this week.

The same thing happened before the Bama 22 game but wasn’t publicize. They redid student entrance after that game too….

I think for these really big games the problem is exacerbated by the fact that people are either doing the VolWalk and POTS band or staying at their tailgate to the last minute to avoid paying for the $100 beer and created a crush getting in starting 30 minutes before game time.

The big logistical problem is if you do the POTS and then try to enter you can’t enter right in front of stadium so people go either end of the stadium. The students now being moved to the truly area where a lot of other people are now funneling in. When the students all get inside they turn right which takes them down the inner concourse which has not been expanded creating a funnel effect. They check student tickets after Bama 22 to verify students are going to right section and that slows students down which backs up into the funneled concourse even more.

I am glad my dad ended up riding with friends they met for lunch in Lenior City. It was looking like his best option was using the shuttle if they'd had to park at Locust Street.

I live in ATL (close enough). I don't stay in Knoxville. If it's a night game, I drive about an hour, hour and a half back and get a room.

It wouldn’t have been an issue for the ETSU game because it was a much lighter crowd that exited at halftime and throughout the 2nd half. For GA, virtually all 102k stayed the entire game and attempted to exit at the same time.

FL and Bama weren't that bad last year. Both big crowds, both times everyone stayed.

I agree but they were much worse than the ETSU game. The ingress and egress for GA game were likely worst ever due to premium gates, less general admission gates, gates and barriers creating bottlenecks, and poorly trained staff and poorly working scanners.

Folks can't tell which is the premium gate till they've waited and clogged the wrong line.

Game Day being there, and added security, had a lot to do with it I'm sure.

We have actually walked downtown after games, eaten dinner, caught a bike taxi or Uber back to G17, and gotten home about the same time as sitting in traffic. It's unreal.
