Just saw a Florida fan suggest Billy Napier is a plant, which I find plausible. His expression never changes no matter how Florida is doing on the field. He might be an angiosperm. We should keep a close eye on him and see if he blooms.

Napier is proof what a crapshoot coaching hires are - no matter how good of a job you are. And I hate Florida but that’s a premier job.

They’ve been wandering the wilderness since urban Meyer left.

Please retire Kirby.

Here are some guys on Virginia Tech's roster who are from Tennessee

Currently their 2nd leading receiver

3 star freshman that attended Baylor High School in Chattanooga

Led them in tackles last season

I’d take Ayden Green. He was playing well in the one VT game I saw vs uscjr.

I think Brazell heads to the nFl so he could be another veteran receiver to come in for us - even though Staley and Matthews would be third year guys next year.

For the silly "wELp tHerEfOrE hYpE WiLL Never bEaT UGa" statements...

2021: 17-41 not much of a game

2022: 13-27, more respectable end-to-end, but it was still 24-6 even at half

2023: 10-37, a step back in an obvious rebuild season.

2024: 17-31, up by 10...tied at the half. Much more competitive than any game prior.

2025: you already know. Nose-to-nose in about every way.

Now, how about talent differential? 247 team talent composite avg player:

2021:93.5 v 88.0. 5.5/avg gap
2022: 93.4 v 87.8. 5.6/avg gap
2023: 93.0 vs 89.3 3.7/avg gap
2024: 92.9 v 89.5. 3.4/avg gap
2025: 92.5 v 90.4 2.1/avg gap
Good stuff. We are getting so close.

Not sure we have spots really to take many from portal right now...but a few names in the 2026 class that probably open up their recruitment again.

But looking at ratings

UCLA
2026 class:
Carter Gooden 4 star edge, top 100 national
Micah Smith 4 star IOL, 18th ranked at position (we offered)

VA Tech
2026 class:
Thomas Wilder 4 star OT, 25th ranked at position (we offered)
Andrew Rogers 3/4 star edge, 44th ranked at position (we offered)

Best thing for them this season is secure another No. 1 pick that they can trade back from and fahr Callahan. Then they might be playoff contenders two seasons after that.
The Titans are way further away from playoff contention than one more draft.

I said two more and might be. If Ward is the real deal they can get there by 2028. It's honestly hard to tell because the team around him is so bad.

Players who choose to transfer from Virginia Tech or UCLA would be immediately eligible at their new school
