Danny White Issues Apology

He needs to apologize for what they have done to the watching experience. For 20 something years we could see replays of the game after a big play or a penalty. Yesterday there was absolutely nothing on those stadium tv’s.

For us on the opposite end of the stadium, we couldn’t even see how the game ended. Just some referee saying “touchdown” and everyone exited. $2000 worth of seats to have to hear the game results over the mother flippin’ PA system.

I lost some hearing yesterday because the stadium speakers were so loud. I couldn’t even hear the crowd when they played music on a 3rd down.

Those seat backs take up too much space, too. It’s getting really hard to resist booting the hefty person in front of me down 50 rows of stairs.

It was a disaster, probably the worst I’ve seen traffic flow around the stadium yesterday. Some of the folks in front of us said that the scanner was out at their gate, so the staff was sending people to the front gates, which made things even more crowded.

The security process was slow, you could tell the staff was frustrated. Watched people trying to scan phones and having issues. More than a few folks said that getting rid of the paper tickets was stupid move and after yesterday, I tend to agree.

VolNation, I owe so many of you an apology. The experience getting into Neyland yesterday was not acceptable. The expanded south concourse and gate 9 / Truly Plaza are intended to make ingress much better, and they will, but our plan was obviously not effective. It wasn’t for lack of effort, our staff and campus partners have been working hard on this all offseason. It is proven to be difficult to predict traffic flow with new gates given our tight footprint. That’s not an excuse, we missed the mark. That’s on me. I want you all to know that we are immediately looking at adjustments to our plan. Just as importantly, we will communicate with y’all this week about your best path into the stadium depending on your seat location. Thank you to those that have made me aware of the situation on this platform. I did see it myself at Gate 20. It gutted me to see our loyal fans so frustrated. I’m very sorry. We will fix it.

While they are at it, they need to throw their dj’s playlist in the garbage and find some better music.

I'm sure they looked at the sellout and the $350+ floor for aftermarket tickets and thought, "We're really pricing these fans out, they can't possibly buy these tickets".
C'mon man, we all know true hard-core passionate fans dont find a way to go to games. They sit at home and whine about prices on intenet.

He should also apologize for pricing fans out of games. Good luck if you’re like me 5+ hours away and want to take your family to a Vols game. I wish something could be done about the ticket ‘fee’… I understand prices will go up but $40-60 per ticket in fees is criminal.
Gotta pay for nico bro

I have decided I will only attend Bowl Games now. I can't afford Playoff games, of course, but, I can afford a run of the mill bowl game.
The 3 of us attended the Music City bowl for $300. I'll probably never attend another home game unless someone just hands me tickets. That has happened, but it would have to be a juicy game.

We can find our way in.

Just win.

Gate 21 was a nightmare to get through after POTS.

We did have a much easier time getting out of Neyland though, which is unusual for an ot game.

It was about as bad as I’ve ever seen both getting into and out of the stadium last night and I use the opposite end. Gate 21 was ridiculous going in and we literally couldn’t move for awhile in the north concourse. Then the walk up Fulmer Way was a slow shuffle for some reason.

Soon to come, the "Gate 20 Fan Networking Experience" will be a $500 add on to every ticket using that gate!

I don't go in at that gate so not sure what the issue was. The only issue I had was that they prematurely shut down the gate where the band comes into the stadium - but then realized there was plenty of time for them to let a lot folks in and did so.

And then yes, the bus line back to downtown to the civic was a mess.

That is our gate. Last week we were at the Alumni tailgate, and when we got there just we walked right in. Yesterday was a complete SS and we were lucky there wasn't a mass brawl. There were what seemed like thousands of people pushing and shoving and people screaming at each other all over the place. We were lucky to get in by the Pregame show, but the were BUNCHES of people still outside fighting for position to get in. That is the worst I have ever seen in all my decades of being a Vol fan.

People coming from the direction of Calhouns should not have to go through the G10 garage to get to the front of the stadium. This creates unnecessary traffic through there which can be a safety issue as well as cars are still entering. Open up the walkway between G10 and the stadium that’s open after the game and move security perimeters there if you have to. Theres no reason to have that blocked off the way they do this year.

Also for the love of god please expand out the upper south pathways as it gets dangerous at times.

He needs to do something about the fees that we are more or less forced into paying on the secondary market.

Everyone showing up at Peyton Manning Pass for the Vol Walk and Band clogs it up. You can't disperse folks fast enough to get around the corner at Phillip Fulmer Way, crammed against the Silverstein Looper Bldg.
YES. The new band route is AWFUL.

A) they don’t “serenade the hill,” which is the tradition. You can sit on the hill and watch. Now you can’t even watch them without being crammed on a sidewalk.

B) it creates a bigger cluster of people in a tight space, making entry into the stadium tougher.

C) they block off the road to allow the band to cut across to get in. So the crowd backs up (and we couldn’t get to our gate). Then, when they finally move the barriers (I couldn’t even enjoy the band because their presence was just pissing me off and I wanted them to move), there’s this giant mess of people converging on G20 with no discernible line or order. It was ridiculous.

Put the damn band route back where it was. It was perfect. They took a good thing and broke it with an unforced error.

We made our seats at the time they were getting ready to start the national anthem. That was with us getting to the gates immediately after the VolWalk. First gate sent everyone away because of a scanner issue, then it was mad rush to the main gates that ended up just a stalemate of a non-moving line.

Well, I'm reluctant to tell what Gate we have used for decades because we had no problems with a long line, getting through security or tickets scanned from Google Wallet. My nephew had been going thru Gate 21 for years but he once he saw the band marching in and the surrounding crowd in that area, he and his family agreed to go with us and were very impressed. His son used to stand on the street to watch the band but after the changes in the route we saw last game, we told him there would be a big crowd on that end and little chance of seeing anything unless he got there very early and was willing to stand for hours. We have never donated more than the required amount.
