Considering their belief that 'once saved always saved', they can go back to doing so after the fact without fear of 'eternal damnation', so you really shouldn't be surprised.

There's quite literally zero incentive to even attempt to live according to the teachings of jesus outside of paying lip service to maintain a good outward standing in their local church.

Which probably explains the general Southern Baptist toleration of Ken Paxton's various affairs.

I think the fact they aren't raping and pillaging doesn't bolster your point.
We have SBs in our family for nearly 40 years. Jehovah's too. We're primarily COG. None of us are trembling in the corner over eternal damnation, or thinking today's a good day for rape and pillage because "hey, we're already in!"

Again, religious people overwhelmingly enjoy being what they are, whatever brought them to the baptismal pool originally.

To this point, there’s nothing to suggest that he’s MAGA. Maybe everyone should just wait until the investigation is complete before jumping to conclusions. As of now, all we have are “sources” or social media sleuths guessing as to what his beliefs are.

He probably means fascist loyalist Kash Patel took it upon himself to have Kirk killed.
