Charlie Kirk Shot and killed

@BeardedVol

Listen, I am going to be open and honest with you since you are transforming yourself into a caricature in this forum. You are probably paid for each post made, so maybe it is time your funding moves you to a different forum. The only change would be a different name so having to switch to BeardedUte or BeardedHokie as an example. Thoughts?

What is it with your obsession with the idea that people are paid to post on here?

No one gives a damn about who or what is posted in the Volnation politics forum, outside of us idiots who post in here; no one.

Don’t be obtuse. It’s happening in front of our very eyes. My nieces are 11 years old. Raised in a conservative household and have never known anything different. They come home correcting things their parents say, their grandpa says and telling them they should broaden their minds. They question God all the sudden. The list goes on. These are teachers in podunk middle Tennessee. You think colleges aren’t? You’re insane or blind.
Everyone goes through that period where they have to stop, consider what they believe, and decide whether or not they wish to adopt the beliefs they have learned from the parents as their own.
I was lucky in two ways, that I had largely went through this struggle before graduating HS and were fairly well settled in my beliefs. Second, I went to college nearby and got to go home every weekend keeping connected to my family and church.
But I see that the most dangerous time for a young person would be when they immediately go from a familiar and connected environment to someplace they are isolated and disconnected from their support system. And they have their home and church authorities instantly replaced by a set of professors who are totally opposed to everything they had previously believed.
Isolation and total disconnection from and replacement of authority figures are two key tools of brainwashing.
Thankfully neither of my children wanted to go to college. At the time I was disappointed; but in hindsight I am quite thankful

Heh. Yeah, I listened to the precise words spoken by Kirk.

And, yeah, the message he was sending was that very clear: Gay people are sinners and as he said, per the bible, they should be stoned to death. "God's perfect law when it comes to sexual matters", he said.

No reasonable, rational person would deny this endorsement of violence.
No, that wasnt the point. The point he was making is you can't cherry pick parts of the Bible to fit your stance in response to quote from another celebrity in support of pride month.

What he was saying was if you're going to cherry pick the bible for a quote in support of pride month then you must also accept God's perfect law in it's dealing with gay people as written in the old testament.

It was a warning against using his groups Holy Book to advocate for behavior explicitly forbidden in that Holy Book. You'd have to be willingly obtuse or completely agenda driven to believe he was actually calling for the stoning of gay people.

Comey was competent. He was an absolute snake in the grass and I’m glad he’s gone but he was competent. Mad Dog Mattis was a competent SECDEF.

So a corrupt snake in the grass that most likely committed several crimes is competent?

MMM? Yeah, I'll give you that one. I didn't like him because he was a politician and ladder climber at heart but he wasn't a buffoon at Sec Def.

Was Charlie racist because he was white and held Christian beliefs?
Pepper you should know if you counter a Democrats world delusion with verifiable facts, and it counters their argument, you are clearly speaking hate and a racist. and Charlie spoke facts that shut down their arguments repeatedly......it's fairly obvious.

Oh no you don’t you’re absolutely smarter than this you porcine rube! Comey was absolutely competent. He was very good at what he did. It’s what he did that was the problem. But hey at least he prevented Killary from getting into office we can thank him for that! 😂

I grew up in the church and was a fervent believer for half of my life. It is precisely the complete lack of evidence of his existence that finally convinced me to stop believing. I still am open to the idea that, if compelling evidence becomes available, I will reconsider my position.

Until then, any argument invoking God is a big nothing burger for me.

Hebrews 11:1

King James Version

11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

The existance of God is not about scientific proof for human understanding. He calls us to believe if we choose to hear and accept. He programmed us to be creatures of choice, not robots. However, I'd personally consider that the discoveries of the old texts and scrolls over the years as a confirmation of the bibles in print we do have. I'd also contend that there have been things over time scientifically that have aligned with events in scripture. Kent Hovind is a good source to reconcile Scripture, History, Science, Archeology, etc. I get your path though. You're not the first to have been in and leave. Likewise there are many that were out and came in. And there are ones that left and came back. I'm not "out", but I have been lukewarm because I let some circumstances with my moms death get into my head from a standpoint of anger with a couple of people that should have cared for her in better ways. Doctors they/we went to church with and trusted kind of thing. Life is a journey.
