Charlie Kirk Shot and killed

Well if you think gay people should NOT be stoned to death, then yes, Kirk held extremist views.

Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, made a controversial statement in June 2024 during a discussion on his podcast or live event, where he referenced a Bible verse (Leviticus 20:13) to argue against LGBTQ+ acceptance. While criticizing a YouTuber for promoting "love your neighbor" in the context of Pride Month, Kirk quoted the verse and described it as "God's perfect law when it comes to sexual matters," effectively endorsing the biblical prescription of stoning for homosexual acts.

The approximate quote, as captured in video clips and widely reported, is: **"The Bible says if a man lays with a man, they should be stoned to death... That's God's perfect law."**

### Context and Explanation
- This occurred amid Kirk's broader critique of LGBTQ+ visibility, where he likened being gay to an "error" comparable to addiction, urging people to "get free from that."
- The statement drew immediate backlash for promoting violence, though Kirk framed it as a defense of biblical literalism rather than a direct call to action in modern society.
- Video evidence of the exchange has circulated widely on platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube, showing Kirk reading the verse aloud and affirming its moral authority.
- Posthumously, following Kirk's assassination on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University, this quote has been frequently cited in discussions of his legacy and the hypocrisy in mourning him while ignoring his anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric.
grok couldn't tell where a specific quote came from?

either a podcast or a live event? those are two widely separate things. I have no idea why you continue to trust it.

Do any of you think Charlie Kirk held extremist views?
A few years ago, most democrats would have been in agreement with a majority of Kirk‘s views. People forget that even Barack Obama in his first term opposed gay marriage. The left went off the deep end rapidly since then though.

A clip that probably melts people's brains today is the VP debate from 2008. Sarah Palin and Joe Biden are both up there and have the identical position on gay marriage. They didn't disagree with each other at all.

In what context is this statement good?

“We have to be brave in life, in all fairness, we have a life. I probably shouldn’t be out here talking to you in all fairness but we will be brave. And we have a great country. We have radical left lunatics out there and we just have to beat the hell out of them.”
Because we are going to do it in a „mostly peaceful“ manner.

So the son of a white Utah preacher. Definitely not the environment that typically gives rise to trans terrorists. Chances of being raised in a MAGA environment were quite high, I'm guessing.

Bill Clinton would be considered „far right“ if he showed up in politics in 2025

He’s not funny. Disrespecting our troops, gold star parents, and political opponents is not funny.

Ppl died for this country and Trump constantly disrespects them.

“Retired Marine Corps General John Kelly later stated that Trump did call service members “suckers” and “losers,” saying “because there’s nothing in it for them.” Kelly said that’s how Trump characterized those who are wounded or killed in service.”

“A 2020 Atlantic article claimed that in 2018, Trump said at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in France that he didn’t want to visit because it was full of “losers,” and that U.S. Marines who died at a battlefield nearby in World War I were “suckers.”

You can like the guy but don’t lie for him.
I get not liking Trump. You’re pulling stuff from some crappy news sources though.

We still need to know more. In my experience, preacher's kids either turn out exactly like the parents or the exact opposite of the parents. Not much room in between.

Sorry you have no ability to think and comprehend outside what CNN and MSNBC spews at you.

you should look within and within your disgraceful party to see a true bigot

True. But just knowing those few data points, I'm guessing it's more likely that the call (or shooting, more aptly) was coming from inside the house.

The death penalty needs to be abolished because the state should not be killing its citizens. Outside of that it’s a simple matter of trust, we can’t trust the government to always be honest and correct. Way too many people have been exonerated after years in prison for me to believe that we haven’t executed several innocent people.
To play devil's advocate, the only way I would counter this is that with modern day facial recognition AI, surveillance, and forensics, we pretty much know who did what. Gone are the days of having to rely on "he said, she said".

Now with that said, who's preventing the government from manipulating such data to get death sentences for people they don't like? They are more than capable of doing such things. That is why I also agree with abolishing the death penalty, even in modern times.
