I have no moral objection to any society or people collectively deciding that “for this set of crimes, the penalty is death”.

I would assume that the accused would be convicted by a jury of 12 which isn’t the government.

The sentence would be handed down by a judge and the execution by a government employee.

30 years of appeals before a sentence would be carried out.

The best outcome would be that a would be school shooter be taken out before he can commit the heinous crime. Edit: when I say taken out not necessarily killed.

I know that the schools in Anderson county have school resource officers. I’m unsure of other counties in Tennessee?

The death penalty is an emotional topic.

It’s usually a very heinous crime that could lead to those things that you listed happening.

School shootings or crimes against children shake me to my core. It builds a lot of rage up inside and your first thoughts are revenge or harm to the alleged perpetrator.
