Don’t get me wrong, things can happen when you least expect them. One time I was at my favorite used cd store in Austin in a popular location. On my way out I walked past a guy with no shoes on who was scurrying around looking nervous. I headed to the parking lot and a guy walked by me and said “this is none of your business, he raped my woman.” I kept walking and didn’t say anything, and as I did noted that he was carrying a shotgun. The next day I made a point of reading the newspaper and sure enough on the back page it says someone was shot dead right outside that store. Pretty crazy.

Years ago, a friend went inside the Krystal restaurant in Soddy-Daisy, TN. While she was waiting on her order, a man walked in with no shirt, looking a little wild eyed, and carrying a machete.

I knew her as being very quiet, prim and proper, so I asked her what happened next. She said, "Once I got my bag o' Krystals, I didn't wait around to find out."

Gotta love a girl who doesn't let a man with a machete get between her and her Krystals!
