Florida looks like garbage UPDATE: LOST

The players are here for 4 years, not 40. They're not here long enough to have a "mental block". And we've beat them 2 out of the last 3.

Maybe not but there's something in the water and I hope that we can turn the trend. I can recall several Tennessee teams that were much better than Florida and still lost--oftentimes in embarrassing fashion. I hope that it happens this year but I'll believe a W in Gainesville when I see it. GBO

Not surprised that an improved fearless South Florida upset Florida in the Swamp after running roughshod on Idaho State like they were UL Monroe, except I am very surprised it was a low scoring thriller 18-16.

Was Florida the only SEC School playing an out of conference game that lost yesterday? I think every other SEC team won their game against a non-sec opponent

I bet that schedule alone saves Napier. They had it pretty rough last year but this year takes the cake. Any team playing football takes at least 3 Ls with that schedule.
Yeah, our schedules have actually gotten better when other teams have gotten much tougher, which is refreshing lol.. it used to be us and Auburn with the impossible schedules for decades, but now everyone shares the wealth lol

Yeah, But the only question that really matters to me is, are we going to be one of the four again?

Hard to tell at this point but I am leaning towards no. To be frank, all but a handful of the losses to Florida in the Swamp have been because Florida was just a better team. 2023 is one of the exception and still feels inexcusable.

Maybe the Swamp curse just works in Sept. Believe a win there when score board hits 0.00 and Vols lead, then I may have wait a bit to see if its really true.

Napier may be fired by then.

And Golesh may be a candidate to replace him.

I've seen this all evening and this morning about people going "OMG what if Golesh goes to Florida"..... That is nonsense... The best job that will be available this offseason will be Auburn if they kick the tires on Freeze. Auburn fans are dying to take back that state with Bama's slide down from domination. If they determine Freeze isn't going to do it, that will be the one job Golesh would be primed for.

Florida is literally a cesspool of an administration and school.

There's also a world in which Golesh ends up at UCLA or another B10 school. He grew up in the Mid-West, played high school ball in Ohio, and attended Ohio State.

I think it would be super cool to see Josh Heupel commanding the SEC while acolyte Alex Golesh takes over the B10. That would be cool.

Go Vols!

I would call that man a moron if he somehow goes 10-2 / 11-1 while challenging for a playoff spot and chooses to go somewhere like UCLA or a Big Ten school that isn't named OSU, PSU, Indiana, or Oregon.....

Especially when there could be a few deep pocket openings in the SEC coming up. Talk about totally handicapping your career.. If he runs table and gets USF to the playoff only to go somewhere like UCLA or Rutgers or Michigan State, he'd be an idiot.

Just hope they keep Sunbelt Billy. He’s their Butch Jones.
I enjoy seeing the gators struggle as much as anyone, but CBN isn’t anything close to the jack wagon Lyle Jones. CBN seems like a good guy. I question the culture he’s got at Florida when that dumb arse spit in the guys face with the game on the line. Hope CBN tells that loser to clean out his locker.

Is USF ranked above us next week? I would not be surprised at all if that’s the case. Alabama and Clemson will still be above us. Shoot, I won’t be surprised if we’re 22 and UF is 21 and USF is in the teens. I’m being a little hyperbolic, but it seems within the realm of possibility.
We will jump more this week because some of the voters are complicit with the networks IMO. They will boost us up to help push Game day match -up and college football its their lifeline. The ratings match-up are a part of the promotion so they want it to have a cool sound bite.

USF has a great defense, they didn't have much on offense vs Florida.

My guess is USF will have big move into and up the rankings since they have Miami matchup

Isn’t it kinda weird that South Florida is located in Tampa. I’ve always considered Tampa more central florida
It helps to not think of it as the University of South(ern) Florida, but instead think of it as the University of Florida-South. As in, "south of Gainesville." Heh.

I know, I know, that logic breaks down if you try to extend it to UCF (though it works okay for FAU). *shrug* No one ever claimed the goofballs in Florida are high on logic.

Go Vols!
