Crime and the United States

"Sadly, local leaders care more about grandstanding against Trump than protecting their constituents. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order prohibiting city police from collaborating with National Guard troops or federal agents, a move that has drawn criticism from residents and local leaders.

Make no mistake, Trump’s demand to deploy the National Guard and federal law enforcement isn’t just a power grab—it’s a necessity. Chicago’s streets are the urban wild west, a horrifying testament to failed Democrat policies that have handed criminals free rein while Pritzker plays political games. Calling Trump’s intervention a “dangerous power grab” is rich coming from a governor who’s allowed violence to spiral out of control under his watch. "

Teens Who Murdered Virgin As Part Of S Sickening 'Satanic Ritual' Freed From Jail

Two men who murdered a 15-year-old schoolgirl when they were teenagers as part of a satanic ritual have been freed from jail.

Elyse Pahler was killed on July 22, 1995, by her high school classmates Royce Casey, Jacob Delashmutt, and Joseph Fiorella.

Pahler was lured from her family's home in Arroyo Grande, California to a field where she was expecting to meet the trio to smoke marijuana.

She was stabbed more than a dozen times, choked, kicked and left to bleed to death as part of the boys' sacrifice to the devil.

The trio intended to further violate her body, but instead abandoned her remains in the woods.

Delashmutt, the self-described the 'ringleader' in Pahler's death, and Casey, who admitted to delivering the final blow that killed her, have both been granted parole.

MSNBC Analyst Ridiculed for Protesting Trump's DC plans after SIX Of Her Cars And Bikes Were Stolen

An MSNBC analyst openly criticized President Trump's use of the National Guard in DC, despite recently being a victim of crime in the capital.

In an article for The Atlantic, titled 'Why Is the National Guard in D.C.? Even They Don't Know', Ashley Parker blasted the troops on the ground as being 'an occupation'.

In Parker's eyes, the presence of the troops had 'chilled life in the city' and 'terrified' some people in the city.

Parker, who co-wrote the piece with Nancy A. Youssef, said: 'To some - especially undocumented immigrants - the presence is disconcerting at best, terrifying at worst.'

Following the publication, social media sleuths managed to dig up a post that showed Parker had directly complained about crime in DC as recently as June.

'After another bike was stolen last night, my husband and I realized our life as DC homeowners by the numbers includes: 1 stolen car; 2 stolen scooters/Vespas; 3 stolen bikes; a partridge in a pear tree; etc', Parker posted to X.

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

The greatest threat to the US is the Democrat Party.

This moron exemplifies the mental disorder. Imagine being so brainwashed by the Liberal propaganda machine (which SHE is a part of) that you go on TV and write articles griping about the laws actually being enforced where you live...while youve had your car, 2 motorized scooters, and 3 bicycles stolen from your home. Tens of thousands of dollars in your own property taken from you by criminals...and screaming from the rooftops "I want MORE crime. PLEASE don't arrest these criminals."

Aside from that being completely illogical, delusional, and simply stupid...it goes against even our hardwired impulse for self preservation. Our desire to protect ourselves, our family, and our property is innate. Babies and toddlers act this way without ever being taught. This lady is so overwhelmed by her TDS that it has completely hijacked her brain. It is astonishing to behold.

Imagine being so brainwashed by propaganda that Trump deploying the military against American citizens goes from unthinkable to 100% approved by "small government conservatives" - ridiculing any opposition as "wanting MORE crime" - in less than two weeks

(Especially in a city where crime was already drastically decreasing and all of this was purely for show)

Not even kidding, when this first started it seemed like everyone agreed that this wasn't actually necessary and was a distraction. 2 weeks of propaganda later it's "the military should be in EVERY blue city, and if you don't agree you love crime." Absolute last group of people that should be talking about propaganda, MAGA's entire worldview is based on constantly, repeatedly falling for it

"If you don't want the fed help then you must be happy with the numbers you have in crime...

Lol, what a coincidence that these accounts are all coordinating to repeat the exact same message. Good thing it's not propaganda, amirite

so it appears cities have higher per capita crime rates than suburban or rural areas - why is that?

i don't mean it as a trick question - what is it about living in close proximity encourages more crime

Opportunity is everywhere.
opportunity both in the number of possible victims, but also the number of interactions that would piss people off driving them to a violent spontaneous act.

I would also say less space to "get away" is a factor. as well as other "soft pressures" that come with living in a city. a disconnect from nature, and how lonely a city can be. the constant stimulation of city life also wears on a person's well being, and our society is terrible in recognizing the difference in "busy/distracted" vs "happy". much more of a problem in the city.

I would also say for a lot of people in a city, you are surrounded by more people who only have one view point, on the things that actually matter. doesn't matter what that view point is, the sheer volume of the echo chamber can set things in minds as personal truths, when less volume gives people a chance to be themselves or at least escape for a while. also cities trend younger, and fewer families. so you inherently have less opportunity to be exposed to those demographics and the various alternate views that comes from alternate living styles.

It been proven on studies that once a population center reaches a certain number, society degrades... That why we need more investment in local government and less in state and even less in federal...

I remember a time, seemingly not so long ago, where MAGA Republicans resisted federal government control over localities. Between this and deploying the National Guard into various cities that the Trump base hates, and to go after people the base has seething resentment for, seems like that principle is malleable.
I think that was back wen you was making the transition to independent
