Well, I wish I had watched this now. I didn't know they were going to get slaughtered.

Breaking news: Tom Brady to hit the overnight transfer portal to UNC. The Patriot Way 2.0 college style sucks ass

I never thought Billy was a great coach. I think that the Pats GM and Owner would buy the best players, and they had Brady. I kind of see Billy as the Manager in Money Ball.

I don’t care that they have 70 new players. One would think the coaching staff would have taught them something in 6 months. They literally looked like they haven’t practiced. As inept a performance as I’ve ever seen on both sides of the ball and Belicheck looked clueless.

73 year old washed up coach with no college experience getting blasted on opening day on his home field.

Boy, wonder who could have seen this coming….

You know that feeling when you feel embarrassed for someone else bc they’re so terrible at something they’re trying to do? But at the same time they’re such an insufferable ahole that you can’t look away from their failure. If you didn’t catch the game that’s basically what this was in a nutshell. OP inadvertently nailed it with the title and initial post; this was a man boob of a game.

Do you suppose that just maybe because of Bill's NFL success and what he was about to do to other college programs, that the NCAA had him sign a non-compete clause?

She’ll just find another 70 year old with money. What’s that song? “Ain’t nuthin but a golddigga……”

I didn't check the veracity, but I saw a headline that she's literally trying to trademark the term "gold digger"

I know Bill is not himself and well past his prime, but I'm not even sure what made him great as an NFL coach would translate to CFB. He was so good with moneyballing roster depth*. I don't think those same opportunities exist in college. The top dogs don't have depth problems at all, so there is no edge there where he can outsmart them.

The NFL is a league where you can succeed if you are great at very specific things. A well-rounded guy who is not great at anything is not really what people are looking for in the NFL, but that guy is a great player in college. It's a different sport for somebody like BB (not necessarily all coaches).

*For example, he figured out that DT's had more relative value than DE's (because of salary). He always sacrificed talent at the top for depth so he got to the playoffs without major holes year after year after year.
