Why do you hate Alabama?

Alabama
They have 9.the other three they try to claim is because they got a couple of votes. Back before bowl games they had about 10 different Voters who voted for a national champion on three different years they got 2 or 3 votes and the Other team had 7 or 8 votes. Majority wins so Bama really just has 9 NC's
Everyone except Bama says they have 9

And UT has how many?

I hate Bama simply because of the arrogance of their fans...I know every fan base them but Alabama is rich with arrogance

Ears full of wax.
Bodies that reek of stench.
Yellow tooth covered in plaque.
Greasy hair and skin.
Crotch crickets.
Dingle berries.

And that's just Miss Alabama.

It's those 9 or 12 NCs.
Well even that don't bother me, you know if Tennessee had 9 or 12 National Championships I would be proud of that too, but they walk a fine line between arrogance and prideful...I believe some how we lay claim to 6? But I'm not 100% sure on that but I thought I read that somewhere

I thought they won the National Championship of East Tusk Are Looser 26 times, not to mention the NC of West Birmingham 406 times. Rumor also has it that the Bammers have won the National Championship of Bryant-Denny Stadium every year since the Mayflower sank the Bizmark.

I was born at kick off UT vs UA, we lost 7-6. My mother was in labor late the night/morning before, lasted a long time. As game time approached, my paternal grandfather said, "I didn't drive up for just this, I'm not missin' the game." He left, went to the game, and was, apparently, in a foul mood upon his return. He simply said, I bet this youngin' here coulda ran the ball better than what I saw out there today. I heard that story growin up over and over. I used to get tix every year for my birthday, but now it's the following weekend, MAKES ME HATE THEM MORE!

The entitlement mentality is brutal when be spewed about by a sub-75 IQ.

The arrogance of their fans dating back to when I was a youngster in the early 70's. If you were around then and had to listen to all things Bear Bryant then you would understand.

Per Wikipedia we have six

University of Tennessee - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tennessee competes in the Southeastern Conference's Eastern Division, along with Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt, and has longstanding football rivalries with each. The Volunteers won the 1998 NCAA Division I-A National Championship in football, and the team is noted for its 1938, 1940, 1950, 1951, 1967, and 1998 National Championship victories. The Volunteers were coached by Phillip Fulmer until 2008 when Lane Kiffin was officially announced as the new head coach of the Vols on December 1. Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning and the late NFL Hall of Fame player Reggie White are among the numerous NFL athletes to begin their careers at the University of Tennessee. The men's basketball program is headed by Bruce Pearl, and in 2008 the Vols won their first SEC regular season championship in 41 years.
The Tennessee Lady Volunteers won eight NCAA Division I titles (1987, 1989, 1991, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2007, 2008), the most in women's college basketball history and are led by Pat Summitt, the all-time winningest basketball coach in NCAA history. Her 1000th victory occurred on February 5, 2009 and she boasts a 100 percent graduation rate for all players who finish their career at UT. The main womens basketball rivals for Tennessee within the conference are Georgia, Vanderbilt, and LSU.
UT's best-known athletic facility by far is Neyland Stadium, home to the football team, which seats over 107,000 people and is one of the country's largest facilities of its type. The stadium is currently undergoing a $200 million renovation with construction expected to last into the 2010s [1]. The Volunteers and Lady Vols basketball teams play in Thompson-Boling Arena, the largest arena (by capacity) ever built specifically for basketball in the United States. Both basketball teams currently train at the adjacent Pratt Pavilion, a $20 million dollar facility opened in 2008 which houses two full size gymnasia, one each for the men and women varsity basketball teams, and space for sports medicine, strength training, film study, and recruiting.
The swimming program trains at the Jones Aquatic Center, which is directly adjacent to the Student Aquatic Center. This first-class complex is capable of hosting the Southeastern Conference and NCAA Championships, as well as national and international events. Also included in the new facility is a weight room, training room, and the University of Tennessee Swimming and Diving Hall of Fame.

UT claiming 6 is akin to Bama claiming 12. Any Vol who stakes a claim to 1940 or 1967 is no different than a Bammer who mindlessly claims 12, but has no idea what the facts were. Tennessee lost bowl games in each of those years, and finished 2nd and 4th respectively in the final AP Polls for those seasons. 4 is the realistic claim....something to be proud of, I might add.

I think the folks that can remember the conference before they split in half would say nothing compared to the UT/BAMA game. Florida wasn't anything back then. Vandy and KY were more important too. Ga. and Ole Miss were bigger than Fla. back then. In modern day I hated Spurrier(johnson city TN. native), and I dislike Meyer...We have to beat them they are tops in our division, but losing to BAMA hurts me more. I guess 'cause I'm OLD.

I wasn't laying claim to that, I was just simply stating that some sites and what not say we have 6, sorry if it come off as laying claim to it I was just saying...I wasn't even thought of during then so I really don't know the facts, I just dug that up on the web and thought it would help with the discussion

Buck National Championships, if we beat bama that IS the NC. If we lose to Bama and still go to the NC...who cares?

THAT"S HOW MUCH I HATE THEM!!!!

I turned down a better job in Alabama when I found out a company wanted me here in Knoxville. That's how much I hate Bama.

the perception of pride versus arrogance has to do with how many national championships they've won. UT fans only can wish others were debating whether they're prideful vesus arrogant based on winning a whole lot of NCs.

I was 10 years old or so when the 5 overtime game happened and my grandad is a season ticket holder for alabama on the 50 yard line in the heart of the alabama section and I was the only wearing an orange shirt it seemed like for miles and when we converted the long fourth down i started screaming rocky top as loud as I could and an old lady and I mean reallllly old lady came hobbling up to me from about 5 rows over and told me to shut up..... I was like 10
agree,i went with my cousin in 07,the fans would be rude to me,and like wanting to fight words, even when they were winning big,the fans are rude,i tell everyone back here in tennessee that.then at the end of game they holler hey tennessee hey tennessee,we just beat the heck out of u,but its not heck,it the bad word.and they scream that after every win,of any team, but when u beat them they wanna fight.

In 1995 my mom moved us to b'ham from cleveland,TN,were I had spent my whole life to that point(12 or 13 years). The fist thing that everyone jumped on me about was the streak.I was desperatly homesick at that time(and still am some what). My dad figured it would be nice to take me to the TENN-Bama game at legion field that year, thinking maybe watching our good ole Volunteers would help with the homesickness. That night I watched Peyton and the Vols hand it to the bammers to the tune of 41-14,it was the most signifacant game of my life. To me Bama represents everything I hate, and Tennessee represents all that I love . GO VOLS!

When I was a kid they were the only team that Tennessee could never beat . The year Tennessee had Andy Kelly at qb were undefeated , tied twice but undefeated , tried to kick a field goal to win it and bama blocked wound up kicking a field goal to win on next play . Terrible
!!
