Anyone watching Nico tonight?

The apparent narrative his "camp" put out about it not being about money and more about surrounding him with better talent was a joke. UCLA looks awful.
It was exactly what everyone thought it was - lobbying for more money, and it backfired spectacularly.
You've got to keep up...that narrative changes daily. After reports started coming out about him getting less NIL money and people started pointing out UCLAs last few recruiting numbers, narrative changed again to him wanting to be closer to home.

Curious enough to check the stats tomorrow… no where near curious enough to watch him.
Incase you check your (bell) here on Volnation before then, he’s still over throwing receivers and, after two easy pitch and catches, he just threw to the back hip of a receiver coming across the middle at, about, seven yards away.

He's looking sharp at times and definitely more decisive running the football. He's had some drops and has no line ,so that whole narrative about upgrading the talent around him is taking a hit. Still not handling pressure well.

Looks like he doesn't go through progressions and doesn't step up in the pocket but instead pulls it down and runs.
He's a few decent passes but not worth the price he was asking.

Every team drops some balls and allows some pressure. That’s just part of playing college football. But some players manage to throw for a hundred yards in a half even given that. Nico isn’t one of them.

This is what happens when Nico plays.

The immense hatred in every Vols fans heart for the last 6 months has led up to this

Hate the game not the player, G
You're right but Not just about that for me, though I dislike his Dad greatly. For me it's about vindication for our coach and program. I don't hate or even dislike Nico but I do enjjoy seeing him struggle becUse it refutes the narrative guys like Klatt and Big Nic put out there.

kind of reminds me of the the old VA Tech special from several years ago. Drop back and let it clear out a little then tuck and run. Just not the same quality runner.

He’s a competitor, I’ll give him that. Made some nice moves to avoid pressure but is not getting the ball out on time. Not sure what the WRs are doing (half paying attention honestly) but it looks real familiar.

Need to see how the season plays out but maybe we let it play out like it did because he simply wasn’t progressing? Time will tell.
