Nothing. The country has seemingly accepted that children dying is more tolerable than making it harder to get guns.
You can tell yourself what you want, but it’s a problem other countries have basically solved.Minnesota is pretty strict on gun control from what I understand and it still didn't work. Also, people can use knifes, bombs, cars, etc. Guns aren't the only things that a mass murderer can employ.

Sure, mass shootings do happen in other countries, but it’s a shocking event instead of a repeated, expected occurrence.

China has constant knife attacks in schools, etc. Their media just does a better job covering it up. Heck, we have had school shootings happening since we were formed as a nation:
