Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Just passed Japan in data released this year actually. No steps back. Cali’s economy is growing faster than the 3 largest world economies - US, China, & Germany.

Also has the largest share of manufacturing and agricultural production in US.
And insane income inequality; lost representation in the latest census because people are leaving the state in such big numbers. It's sad; the state could be so much more than it is.

Ok - my son and I shooting the chit tonight. Here are our top 5 thoughts.

1. Our tight end room may be best in nation - we're excited to see Brame
2. We both agree our o-line will very likely be better than last year.
3. Joey will exceed Nico 2024
4. Peyton Lewis will win #1 spot
5. Arion Carter or Mike Matthews will draw all SEC honors by close of year.

My son said these takes are not hot.
His hot take: we'll beat UGA at home

My hot take: Brame will push to be a starter on offense with snap counts close to Davis.
With respect to Brame: okay, but Miles Kitselman is supposed to be our starting TE. Right? Davis is #2.

Agree good extension.

Dont agree with the rest. Tennessee has gone toe to toe with those mentioned teams over and over and in many periods of time owned them, it’s just been a good while since then. All it will take is a top 5 class or a national championship appearance to make those dominos fall year after year. Every program out there should fear a Tennessee team that reaches the pinnacle height of success in college football.

The coaches believe Kits is one of the most complete TEs in the country. Personally, understanding I don't see what they see at practices, but I will need to see that in games this season to believe it. But that is what our coaches think.

They also think Davis has a chance to be an elite TE receiver this season.

I agree, except #4. I think Bishop is getting looked over by the fans more than he should be.
I think Bishop will start the season as the #1 RB, but I think Peyton Lewis will take over as the #1 RB during the season. He has breakaway speed that Bishop doesn't possess. I think they'll likely be very close in their total number of carries by the end of the season, barring injury.

Kitselman is a monster and will do a little bit of everything for this team ala Fant. He, along with Arion, Telander, and Eason, are the heartbeat. We need to keep him healthy.

What the coaches see in Kits is that not only can he catch passes, but he's an excellent run blocker. Blocking well is the toughest part of becoming a great TE.

I was not down on Kits. I was simply saying the coaches are him as the best TE in the country and that I will need to see to believe. But I do think he is a great all-around TE. The TE room is stacked.

make sure your son doesn’t have a fanduel and your card not linked to it😭🤣🤣🤣 he’s seeing those ML lines…I truly believe we do based off the lines…against Georgia…all the other stuff he said basically is “dad put down the orange koolaid” which is normal 🤣🤣

The whole sports media is basically a rasslin match. A bunch of guys conspiring together to manufacture drama so they can feed off each other, put on a show, sell tickets to make money, and the ones who make the most money are the best actors.

*NB4 “it’s real to me…”

Every year we hear certain players being pumped up during fall camp, never to be heard from again when the season starts. . . and players hardly mentioned become our stars.

They just make up stuff with names we're familiar with to build interest. I'd be happy watching the practice sessions with no audio, 😂

I forgot this was an OT game. . . this was before anyone realized we were gonna be great that year. A lot of people had big doubts with such a tight game vs Pitt.

Same thing in ‘98. I expected a better showing against Syracuse. If you said we would win it all after that, I wouldn’t have believed you.

Something to keep in mind if we come out flat. 1st game doesn’t define the season.
