grok:

Tennessee's Senate Bill 392, effective July 1, 2025, criminalizes "harboring" undocumented immigrants, defined as providing shelter or concealing individuals known or reasonably suspected to be in the U.S. illegally, particularly for financial gain. This Class E felony carries up to 6 years in prison and a $3,000 fine. The law also establishes a misdemeanor for harboring with a $1,000 fine per individual. Exemptions exist for lawyers and healthcare providers, but the vague definition of "shelter" raises concerns about targeting families, landlords, or churches offering aid.

A lawsuit filed by the Southeastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, a landlord, and a resident with an asylum-seeking relative challenges the law’s constitutionality, arguing it violates federal authority over immigration, the First Amendment, and the Fourteenth Amendment due to vague language. Critics, including the ACLU and Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition, warn of overreach, potentially criminalizing everyday acts like renting to or living with undocumented individuals. Supporters, like Rep. Chris Todd, claim it targets human smuggling, not charitable acts, though the law’s broad scope fuels debate

"On Tuesday, the president nominated Braden Boucek (pictured above, right) to serve as the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee and David Michael Dunavant (pictured above, left) to serve as the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee, as previously reported by The Tennessee Star."

Horrible.

I don’t actually believe this. People make absurd claims like this all the time. I sent a lady to the ER because her BP was 240/120 and on her way out she was yelling that I wouldn’t treat her because she was poor. Then she told someone she was just going to go home and drink Apple cider vinegar for her blood pressure

Is this a strip mine or a tunnel?
AI Overview

The recently approved coal mine on Bryson Mountain in Claiborne County, Tennessee, will involve
surface mining rather than underground tunnel mining.
Specifically, the permit granted to Hurricane Creek Mining authorizes the use of:
  • Auger mining: A method that uses a large drill to extract coal from seams exposed in highwalls, according to WATE 6 On Your Side.
  • Highwall mining: This involves extracting coal from seams exposed in a highwall (the vertical face created by surface mining).
  • Contour mining: A type of surface mining that follows the contours of a mountain or hillside, removing overburden (rock, soil, and trees) to access coal seams, notes WPLN News.
This particular mine will also be operating on a site that has been previously mined between the 1950s and 2010

It’s wild and then if they refuse ER and you do treat that person, you’re going to be sued 5 minutes later.

So you get the choice either to be sued for discrimination if you don’t see them or medical malpractice if you do
