Physical ability and potential are a trap for many coaches. Like a hot, head turning chic, they bite and find out there are twenty three other hours of the day that are hell.I will say this...I think Heupels eyes have been opened to the fact that he can't just make anybody into a great QB. Nico and Joe are two of the most physically gifted QBs that have been seen anywhere lately...I think Josh just thought of what he could do with all that talent if he could mold it, but some things are unmoldable...however I do think Nico was going to get better this year if he had stuck with it...he just wasn't one of those guys that immediately gets it.
There are several receivers that have taken a big step forward in production in their second year in Heupel's system. I think Brazzell has shown enough ability that he could have a great season if he stays healthy. Same could be said about Matthews and Staley as well. I actually think those three are going to be really productive if they stay healthy and we'll get to see some the freshmen and Jefferson have their moments.I think by game 3 it's MM BS and one of the freshman shining. Brazzell is fading.
My feeling is that we may be passing just for fun this season. We may be able to get away with a cardboard cut-out for a qb this season. I think we run the ball like nobodies bidiness this year.AP is really high on them too. If everyone who’s saying they look so much better than last year is right we might see a real change in the passing game this year.
