Spoken like a true Yankee prick.

Yeah I call BS on that dude’s story about hearing non stop “Yankee” on his recruiting visit. I live in the South and have spent my entire life in the South and can count on one hand the amount of times I referred to people from northeast as “Yankees”.

Listen here buddy, we melt down when we're excellent, too. Just ask our nega-Vols.

And yes, we feel entitled to excellence. You don't get to be one of the 10 best programs in the nation without a lot of excellent years. We're just trying to get back to them on the regular.

Finally, yep--we did get that one right.

Hehe, an oversized stadium. Guys with little pe--stadiums think guys with bigger stadiums are too big. lol, I get it. Stadium envy. :)
Used to be the "Carrier Dome" with no AC!! Hahahaha

As a "Yankee" that lives in the south (and have for over half my life), I don't ever recall being called a Yankee by anyone.

There's an interesting irony there.... I can't quite put my finger on it though.
Not really when you have been as consistently at the top of the SEC in rushing as UT has over the last 4 years. It is a reasonable expectation that UT will be a really good rushing team again.

Syracuse proved they can overachieve with their win over Miami last year but talent wise they're badly overmatched by UT. I'll be surprised if Heupel lets them get up off the mat.

Tennessee fans do the same thing. I just think we have more talent than them in the trenches. Im still thinking 7-5 or 8-4
A lot of things have to go wrong for Heupel to only win 7 games this year. I think the schedule sets up nicely for UT to possibly go 9-3 or reach 10 if we win one out of UF, UGA, or bama. I would take our roster over the majority of the opponents we face honestly. It helps to get MS State on the road and OU/ARKY at home.

To get called “yankee” to your face is a curse word. Someone either considers you a friend or you’ve pissed them off when they start throwing around “yankee”. There’s not much in between.

Either that person was really cool or everyone thought he was a pain in the ass.

ACC inferiority complex.
The ACC has the potential to be put out of business next weekend (obviously embellishing here). If LSU wins at Clemson, Bama at FSU, Tennessee vs Cuse, South Carolina vs VPI, Notre Dame at Miami, TCU vs UNC, those are all potential and likely L’s, it’s going to be very, very bad for the league . This coming from a guy who is from the heart of ACC country and grew up here. I hate to see the league be in a bad spot, but they keep running their mouth. Rhett Lashley talking about the depth of the league? GTFO

Exactly

A lot of people from that part of the country, and in Hollywood claim southerners are closed minded bigots, yet ironically they are the ones who paint all southerners in the same stereotypical way. And most have never spent more than a day in the South

-Tennessee fans feel entitled to excellence and think it's obscene if they're not perennially top 10. They melt down when they're mediocre (oh boo hoo us) or try to hire a meathead a former Rutgers coach (well they did get that one right).

Ah yes, fans of a program that, let me check my notes, is 11th in all-time winning record expect to be in the top ten; news at 11.

Last year (when syracuse was clearly better--19 Starters vs 6 TY) They averaged around 100 yds rushing 200 passing vs good teams the acc. Tennessee was strong vs the run and pass (except uga) so if syracuse manages to get 300 yds total offense, that won't be enough. I see the Vols' balanced offense with 200 rushing and 250 passing being the advantage here. 450 for US, 300 for them. THEREFORE, using each team's average points per yard (last year) the extrapolated score would be---Tennessee 450yds @ .08 ppy 36- Syracuse 300 yds @ .07 ppy 21. There's your score. VOLS 36-21. Points per yard factors in all scores, defense & special teams. 36-21! Bank it! lol

And there is probably more actual racism in the northeast than the rest of the country combined.

It's not the Northeast, but a dude I knew in the Navy was from Chicago and he's probably the most prejudiced person I ever met. He said things that actually downright offended me.

I'm ready for talking season to be over.... lot of these little programs taste a tiny bit of success, it goes to their heads and they talk and talk and talk all offseason. Then, when the new season actually starts and they get slapped around, they slink back off to hide in their holes.

I'm ready for the actual season to start; we'll settle it on the field.

Must be talking about vandy. Beat bama once in 40 years and won't shut up about it. I never thought I would see the day I would consider rooting for the turds but here we are.

-Buncha hicks in Knoxville. I took an official visit there as they were recruiting me hard to play golf there. I’ve never heard the word “Yankee” so many times in my life. Cool school and campus sure, but they are kinda like WV people. Very very very strange.

Absolute horseschiit. I'm from NJ, went to school at UT and lived in Charlotte for three years. I can probably count on one hand the amount of times in all those years I was called a "yankee", and they were in jest.
