Woodrow Wilson came up with the concept in the 1910s. You guys are zombies to it and it has lead the USA into unnecessary war after unnecessary war and arguably helped cause WW2 as well.
According to Zelenskyy there’s a total of 25 ceasefires Putin has agreed to since 2014. But, yes. That’s one of them. Along with Easter, Christmas, and others.
Point still stands. Temporary ceasefires do not guarantee a war ends.
Putin needs to learn the hard way. Accept Ukraine into NATO and make him walk the walk.bush implied a nuclear threat for anyone interfering in our invasion of Iraq
the real problem here is, contrary to norris's interpretation of history..it had been assumed since the end of wwII that war for land was no longer acceptable, or even feasible, in large part due to nuclear weapons. now Russia is essentially using the nuclear threat to make a very clumsy and embarrassing attempt at a land grab.
Russia needs Crimea because Putin isn't competent enough to make russia thrive without it using the model he's married to thus far. He cant make Crimea work without the surrounding areas. It IS existential to Russia, but due to incompetence, not ukronazi fairytalesPutin needs to learn the hard way. Accept Ukraine into NATO and make him walk the walk.
Every sane individual in the world knows the nuclear threat is bogus over Ukraine. It's Ukraine.
Bush could at least argue that Iraq was a rogue actor even to its middle eastern neighbors. Saddam was not trustworthy even among Arab nations much less the rest of the world. The Bush threat was bogus too, if he'd been called on it, but Iraq wasn't anyone's favorite nation so the world really didn't care.
But Ukraine? Zelensky isn't Mother Teresa by any means but Ukraine isn't menacing anyone, certainly isn't threatening anyone, isn't doing much of anything except exporting wheat and whatnot. Obama was a coward. I expect better from President Trump than to let Putin bluff him over Ukraine.
Can you point one out?
Besides the 3-day cease fire Putin wanted for his parade, and the unilateral Orthodox Christmas ceasefire that Putin said he was observing, but didn't, I know of no others.
Wait? Isn't Russia too depleted to fight? So a conventional war is worth the risk?
Not my problem. If Russia needed Ukraine, they never should've agreed repeatedly to let Ukraine become a sovereign nation after 1991. I feel certain they wouldn't have let the Moscow province leave because they need Moscow.Russia needs Crimea because Putin isn't competent enough to make russia thrive without it using the model he's married to thus far. He cant make Crimea work without the surrounding areas. It IS existential to Russia, but due to incompetence, not ukronazi fairytales

Dude, why are you being so obstinate? Seriously. He likely would, but he’s refused ceasefires before.
Either way, you’re intentionally confusing “ceasefire” and “end of the war”.
That's exactly what I want but the Ukrainian people I know, actually missionaries some who are natives, some who are married to natives, are unable to stay safe, as a matter of fact the ones I know personally are no longer in Ukraine though they are still in the area and occasionally entering Ukraine. Reports I've heard personally are not comforting for civilians in Ukraine at all. This is a horrible take. Russia is losing wealth and mass numbers of people in this war. Let them continue to bleed. Make NATO pay their share, and keep the pressure on Putin.
History says whatever Putin agrees to he will not abide by. The war is not ending unless Ukraine surrenders to Putin or someone jumps in on Ukraine's behalf.Dude, why are you being so obstinate? Seriously.
If both Putin and Zelenskyy agree to a ceasefire, why would the war not end?
I'm close to writing you off as a mindless AI bot.
HINT: IT WOULD.
So 2-3 day ceasefires that happened to coincide with Russian logistical struggles.Christmas, Easter, Victory Day, and Mariupol Humanitarian are 4. I’m assuming there’s more. Zelenskyy did not officially publish the list, he only referenced it. There may be some classified negotiations that prevent it from being published
