DFA is exceptional at what they do and how they do it. We just happen to be living in an abnormal period of time where growth has outperformed value for 15+ years, and so comparatively the majority of their funds look meh to many fund managers that have been riding the mag 7 tech boom. We had them build some custom portfolios aimed at incorporating more growth and a larger drift parameter to ride the swell of mid and large cap companies a bit longer and those portfolios have done very well. If you ever get the chance to tour their charlotte or austin headquarters, I highly recommend it.DFA is very meh, I’ll never understand the cult following

And they’re not the only manager we use, but they’re one of the ones we use the most. We also have had great success and experiences with Capital Group | American Funds and BlackRock based portfolios.
We have colleagues who use only them. Thats a mistake. They do it for business scalability, and I’ve gotten the cold shoulder for implying they need to be less rigid in their investment philosophies and more open to a wider range of strategies as their approach is ignorant and koolaid soaked at best and not in the best interest of their clients at worst. Still love them, but you gotta understand what people do well and what the overall landscape is lending to, or your solution isn’t accounting for the whole equation.Sounds like someone in a cult would say…
Jk they have a place in portfolios, I like their international etfs for diversification. And yeah their office here in Atx is huge and their wholesalers gotta good sense of humor
We aren’t just barely getting more per year in this apparel deal compared to the other big programs…we are getting WAY MORE!! Just massive! Elite recruits incoming followed by championships!View attachment 763747
Tennessee is getting 200m/10yr - 20m/yr.
How did Danny White/Tennessee do this? That is beyond flagship status, I don't even know what it is but Danny White would have been fired on the spot if he'd stayed with whatever chump change Nike was offering.
I don't care if Nike's clothes are made of gold and Adidas made of actual ****. Zero chance that kind of investment would or should ever be passed up.
So what you’re saying is our DL should be able to dictate the game and there will be plays to be made in the passing gameCatching up on opponent 1....
Vibes around Syracuse are high after last season:

Offensive Coordinator is back
they did lose some key pieces from last year on offense (QB, weapons, OL)
did a decent job in recruiting and portal the last couple of years
they feel good about their RB
QB will drive everything. they brought in 2 QBs this offseason via portal. Collins, who was named starter in spring. Lost their backup to portal after QB battle was settled. SO they then added the backup from ND (remember him?).
ND guy brings more experience, the younger guy is more athletic (higher ceiling)
they will want to throw the ball if things are going well. like the spread the ball out
OC saying he wants to see "backyard QB" from them, aka play loose
WRs will be decent, experienced. Ross Simmons is supposed to be their guy, Gill is another. Cook - newcomer, very athletic, but hasn't put it all together yet. Young guys like Ross (4star). Pena was supposed to be their NFL WR but he left via portal.
OL has a lot of guys, new guys. trying to find a lineup that works. not a ton of upper classmen. they were able to amass guys, so they aren't thin, but they aren't strong either. not a lot of guys that have played together, lot of new pieces.
Defense gave up 30 ppg last year
DBs and LBs had issues last year
their staff says that they were 2 defensive stops away from the playoff last year. (if you saw either of those games (Stanford, BC), this is a BUTCH level statement. possibly Butch on cocaine level statement)
Defense
they lose best linebacker, also their best pass rusher
return experience at safety, return a less athletic but experienced LB
will be figuring out defensive lineup as season starts
they have a very tough schedule this year, not likely to repeat 10 win mark from last year
6-6 or 7-5 would be considered a pretty good year for what most Cuse fans are saying is a transition year
seem to really like their head coach
