Anyone hearing anything on Brazell? [arrested for driving on suspended license]

Looking at 247, they had over 30 WRs who entered the portal they rated as 4*'s. That means they graded them 90 or above. That's better than "marginal".

That said, arguing what Heupel and staff SHOULD have done when the season is just a few weeks away is pointless. We have the WRs we have, and should Brazzell be ruled out, we'll go on with who we have. It is what it is.
But they should be graded on that. Pope hasnt been lighting it up on the trail, until now - losing six depth pieces, and then taking NO ONE in the porthole is criminal. I know you know i'm ready to fahr.

I did, which confirms you are projecting. Share with me muppet, which WR should Tennessee have overpaid for?
"Overpay" is an assumption on your part. I'm sure you know what they say about those who assume. The talent was there. We chose not to pursue it.

Sounds like a very simplistic and ignorant way to look at the situation. Again, which one and what was their price tag? You do realize Tennessee had to pay Matthews, Carter, and quite a few of their own blue chip players to stay right? Who's to say Matthews or Staley doesn't leave if Tennessee brings in someone from the outside to possibly take their spot? Tennessee already has 3 top 100 players at WR. All they needed was depth. And if you were actually following the transfer portal other than just looking at 247 2 minutes ago, you would have known these types of WRs were asking for a very high price tag. That's the reason Squirrel wasn't retained.

Overpay is me paying attention during the portal window and not coming in like a clueless muppet 6 months after the fact.

We have no idea what price all of those 30+ WRs were looking for. We do know we chose not to pursue any of them.

We also don't know what Tennessee's "budget" is.

You keep making assumptions and presenting them as facts.

Why would the Knox news even report this ? Why is this news ? If I were Danny White, I wouldn’t let a Knox news reporter anywhere near any UT facilities again until an agreement was made. You wanna cover the Vols? Keep the arrests out of the damn paper.
This is the Bible Belt, Hula and arrest reports sells newspapers. Dammit you can't save the sinner if you don't know who they are.

Cops in Knoxville are dumb, you see who it is and you give them a warning
This is exactly why they get to the NFL and think they can get away with, no pun intended, murder. They think they are above others due to athletics and fame. How bout we teach them some accountability during our short time with them at UT? Many of these kids haven’t had that their entire lives. I’m not saying throw the book at him, but what’s wrong with treating him like everyone else?

How is it "overpay" if someone else paid Squirrel and other WRs what they wanted?

Are you just upset at the market prices for WRs?

It's a job. They ask for a salary each season. If you don't meet it, they go elsewhere. Other than the shenanigans Nico tried AFTER agreeing to a price, I'm unsure what your "overpay" is about.

To me, you sound jealous of college kids with talent

Are you more than one person now? Who is 'we'? Again you're projecting. And I've seen your lazy man's approach to information in other threads. Just because you don't know doesn't mean it pertains to everyone else. The information was out there 6 months ago. AP and Hubbs both cited during the spring window that many of these players that would be depth pieces for Tennessee were asking for starter level money. Some schools were willing to overpay. Tennessee did not.

I'm starting to see you're a really dumb person that pretends to be intelligent. How in the blue he!! do you get that I am upset over regurgitating what was said by those in the know during the portal? Maybe you missed it since you were paying attention to Tony B and his sources didn't renew their subscription during that time period. Seriously, work on the flow of a conversation before pretending to be able to detect emotion on a message board.

Dude, it's a message board. Slow your roll calling guys "overpaid" unless you mean it.

As for insults, you're not very good at it. I'd slow my roll on that too but you do you.

I think it's amusing that you call other posters "dumb". Bless your heart.

'Dude' learn to read before giving anyone advice. Calling you dumb is not an insult. It's an observation based on empirical evidence. And someone that has the IQ of a goldfish has no business grading insults or anything else. I really believe you are having your own conversation and it's not with me.

Hehehehe. You appear to enjoy it so keep it up. You even brought up Tony B seeming to suggest you're holding a "message board grudge" which can only be described as juvenile.

By all means, carry on.

'ignorant' and 'misinformed'. Probably should focus on your own heart if you're going to resort to victim mentality. Out of your 90K plus posts I wonder many of those posts are equally as useless and adds absolutely nothing to the discussion. That's all you have really achieved with your hot takes. Still waiting for these big time WRs we should have brought in to take time away from 3 top 100 WR that are currently on the roster. Show your work

I don't enjoy debating insane people that make absolutely zero sense and act morally out raged over the word 'overpaid'. If I were you, I would look into some professional help there short bus

You're hilarious.

I'm simply pointing out that WRs or QBs or any position who make monetary demands and get them met, they are getting paid. It's a very competitive market for football talent in college and the market seems crazy BUT teams are paying these players so that is market value.

Brazzell is turning out to be a disappointment.
He’s got all the tools in the world and it seems like he’s doing the ole Cam Seldon “need to heal up bit”.

Why didn’t he get that surgery at the end of spring?

Matthews is straining and trying to fight through and emerge. Brazzell seems like he did all of this on purpose as to not have to go thru Fall Practice. Because he knows he’s going to start, since he’s the most experienced.

Travis Smith just needs to go ahead and take his spot.
Chris Brazzell played well at times last year, but there were times when he gave me the impression that he was just going through motions but not all into them somehow. That's a subjective observation that could have been totally wrong, so I've not said anything about it. Guys his age do dumb things. I did. But I was not a starting WR for the University of Tennessee. The tickets do not make him a bad person, but it is possible that Brazzell might not know how to swim in water that is SEC deep. Maybe he was not ready for the big show. I'll take my hat off to our players because they do a lot, and what they do takes a lot. Some guys' heads are where they need to be at that level, but some aren't. I think the three Freshmen WRs are where they should be and then some. I have no fear about them going into games this season. They won't be perfect, but my bet is they will play well enough to win.

Most people don’t get arrested for a suspended license

I thought these kids were supposed to have "mentors"? How could the VOLS not know his license had been suspended?

The rumor is driving with a suspended license. Not ideal, but there a lot worse offenses.
They’d look the other way on speeding.

ID violation they probably have their hands tied given RealID and immigration enforcement efforts.
