The Atlanta Braves - Hello darkness my old friend

Stafford is still a good QB, but production wise he has fallen off quite a bit. He's 40, so no shame in that.

I feel like Rodgers will have a bounce back year now that he isn't playing for a **** franchise with a terrible coaching staff. Honestly Rodgers didn't even have a horrible season stats wise last year.

He was washed in 2022 and that BEFORE the Achilles injury. He is done. He's captain checkdown

I don't know if choosing Olson over Freddie helped us be one of the best teams in this window.

Unfortunately, I disagree that we're in a window as long as Ronald is an elite player. It takes more than just that. The Harris contract looks like a downright bad contract now (and I've noticed all the people who thought Mike was crazy to sign that deal are pretty quiet now). Ozzie is not playing up to his deal, however cheap it is. Riley is not playing poorly but has regressed since signing. It's possible SS is back to his old self next year, but since signing his deal he's been hurt and then not quite as good as he was pre-injury. Hell, Ronald's contract still appears like a steal but he's missed a ton of games in his career now and it's absolutely fair to label him as injury-prone. I agree that folks going after the Contreras trade was a hindsight bias thing based on how he played last season; he's regressed, but Murphy has regressed too.

I am not saying choosing Olson helped us more than Freddie would have. I am just saying that the move by itself has helped us continue to be one of the best teams during our competitive window. If looked at as a totally separate move, the Olson trade has yielded the desired result.

And unless we develop another elite player, our window is basically Acuna, at least as far as long sustained success goes. If he leaves or regresses, we'll have to replace a 7+ WAR player (and a 7 WAR player and super affordable contract no less).

Getting literally ANYTHING for Ozuna or Iggy would be some value back. Also, the whole "being respectful to these guys because they're still on our team" is such a cop out. They're professionals, they know the deal.

I'm sure he had offers for those guys, but none of them would make him look like a genius so he didn't do them.

Have to be respectful enough for two players acquired in their 30's (one with two incidents with the law!) via trade or free agency but can't be respectful enough to give Freddie Freeman a 6th year. Interesting.

Be respectful to these players....

This coming from the same guy that DFA'd Culberson on Father's day when his dad was supposed to throw out the first pitch.

The same guy that flew franchise icon Craig Kimbrel out to CA to pitch 1 game, in which he gave up zero runs, and then cut him a day later.

AA can, not respectfully, go eat a big ole bag of dicks.

He knew that he was in a pretty indefensible position coming into that call, so he was grasping at straws. He's saying "have to be respectful" like he's talking about cutting kids from a middle school team or something, and he's already made the moves described where "respecting the player" clearly was not part of his thinking.

Quite a changing of tune from when he was having crocodile tears behind his sunglasses talking about how he had to do the best thing for the team letting Freeman walk over 1 year and $10M at Spring Training 2022

lol this dudes slider isn’t even good and these dudes are flailing all over the place and just guessing.

AA can win me back by trading for Seitzer or doing whatever to make that situation right and get him back lol

Alex Lodise assigned to Rome and activated.

Isaiah Drake, who has been red hot at Rome over the last 3 weeks, was just promoted from Augusta to Rome.
