Tennessee Lady Vol News

There are multiple sites on social media that use the LVs WBB program brand for clicks. This is one of them. No way the floor of this year’s team is Round of 32. Also, I disagree with the ceiling being Elite 8. This team came down to one quarter away from advancing to the Elite 8 in year 1. The ceiling is the National Championship game.
The floor is the Elite 8.

In addition, I disagree entirely with the roster projections. Some players like Prawl and Wynn are rehabbing. Deniya Prawl is really good but it would be extremely difficult for her to start as a true freshman at her position with the veterans returning on this team.
I will say that Jersey Wolfenbarger does have a chance to start. A 6’5 former 2021 F 5-star and #7 ranked player/McDonald’s All-American in CKC system which is made for players with her skill-set. The thing is the 6’4 2022 F 5-star and #3 ranked player/McDonald’s All-American Janiah Barker as well as 6’4 former 4-star and #30 ranked player Lazaria Spearman are all in the mix. That’s three players capable of being starters that will play 2 possibly 3 spots on the court. Great depth and great options to have on Rocky Top.

I'm curious what y'all think about this? I have some thoughts:

- I know it doesn't matter who starts in Kim's system, but Zee will definitely be starting.
- Jaida Civil will be in the rotation.
- I don't think Coop starts at the PG spot.
- I do agree with their *early* preseason floor/ceiling projection. I haven't see the team in action, so I'm going E8 ceiling until I do.

I agree on all points. And yes, unless the team catches a nasty injury curse, I suspect I'm going to be disappointed if the Lady Vols don't reach the E8 this season. That is, of course, assuming team chemistry is strong. In the few short clips and photos of practice and social events they've been together in I've seen that part looks promising.

Jada Civil not being in that lineup is the mark of an idiot

She is ahead of Prawl at this point

This might be a good post to start a thread with. See Freaks request Freak PSA

Looks like we play UConn February 1st, 2026. I hope this game is sandwiched between some of the easier SEC teams.

Because UConn will likely be rested due to the poor conference they're in. Since they aren't playing SC, this could be their biggest game of the season - and their biggest game till March Madness. That won't be the case for us.

Between this visit to the children’s hospital and the youth basketball camp led by the LVs team currently taking place on Rocky Top as well as the team bonding gatherings this team is laying a strong foundation off the court.

GBO 🍊 solid!!

Thank you for the source of the image of Coach Kim. I had a hard time ciphering who she was holding and who she was with.

I think it doesn’t matter. We know Kim is going to start whoever is playing best and earning it at that game. Important thing is we now have a deep roster with speed, size, versatility and defense. Going to be fun to watch.

Assuming everyone stays healthy, by February two groups of 5 could look like this (this is not a 'starting lineup'):

1- Pauldo
2- Prawl
3- Cooper
4- Spearman
5- Latham

1- Robertson
2- Whitehorn
3- Civil
4- Barker
5- Wolf
Think Boyd is the favorite for one of the point guard starting positions. I am expecting Robertson might get her minutes at the two.

I might post some early roster projections. Still too soon to tell at this point of the off-season. I will say that Jersey Wolfenbarger looks like an excellent fit to the system and that Alyssa Latham could improve a lot heading into her second season at Tennessee.

I don't know why I keep forgetting Robertson, because she could end up being a major player for us. The way I see it, the difference in skill/potential level between these players is the smallest of any LV roster in memory. They are ALL capable of contributing.

Probably everyone ready to play will likely get in within the first 6 or 7 minutes.

My first 5 are:

Whitehorn
Cooper
Spearman
Latham
Boyd

Followed in 2 minutes by:

Robertson
Civil
Barker
Wolfenbarger
Pauldo

Next bunch:

Prawl
Wynn
Hurst
Pauldo
