Does anyone have first hand experience and/or recommendations? I think we may have to move my father soon (end of the year) and he will want to stay around Knoxville. Been fighting this for too long
Interesting option since he's a Kingsport native (he and his parents were both D-B grads). Not to be morbid but it's also where he will be buriedI moved my Dad into an Assisted Living and Memory Care Facility 5 months ago and it has been a really really good experience so far. I know that it is about an hour and 10 mins from Knoxville, but the new Baysmont Assisted Living and Memory Care Facility At Asbury Place is a wonderful facility here that I would recommend without blinking an eye. The building is new, the staff are wonderful and the food is very good. The cost are competitive, but still a serious chunk of change monthly. If you don’t mind just a tad bit over an hour from Knoxville I would highly recommend you take a look at Baysmont.

Good to hear your dad is being taken care of. We're not close enough to be there as much so that's an important factor
Are you talking about the one in Johnson City (well, it used to be there)? My aunt had a nice apartment there, and they had the medical facilities to take care of her. That was a few years ago. I'm not sure if it's moved or not. We were very satisfied with Asbury Center for sure.If you by chance should choose Baysmont, I could check on him from time to time and give you updates since I’m there 4 or 5 days every week. It’s not a huge facility and I practically know all the residents there by name.

Sorry to hear that your Dad has passed, I hope that his last years were good, I lost my Mom also in 2016.My dad lived at the Farragut NHC and he liked it a lot. He was in the one behind Bearden first a few years before that. He sold his house in 2007 and passed peacefully in 2016 at 93 so this is a bit dated.
