Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I won't argue that it isn't getting out of hand, it is. I would guess there is more to this than what is being presented. Example is the new lower west club in Neyland. People were grandfathered into sweet prices in some cases and weren't going to part with them ever. DW wanted to improve that section, but had to break some eggs to make that omelet. The result is very nice, but now sells for far more than some were paying previously. Obviously people can relocate to cheaper seats, but they are still mad and vocal.

I don't know what's happening in TBA, but I know they are adding some new club seating court side. I'm certain that seating will cost far more than before, but it isn't simply increasing price. There are generally more amenities that go with such seats. I'll admit that some end up with a raw deal, but the alternative is no progress.
Well said.

A $3000 increase is wrong, no matter how you look at it.

Happy Friday

August 1, 2025: You have many things to consider in these days, and it is easy to forget what you need or want to do. It will take careful deliberation for you to stay on track. But, you are well able to take care of business. I am with you, and am your very present help in trouble, says the Lord. Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

I bet you can nab a comparatively inexpensive ticket for the opener in Atlanta. Or go Krogering. Just a suggestion. I understand your point.
I don’t know where people are in relation to Starkville, but you can get upper deck, 50 yard line-ish tickets for $60-$70. I’m 2.5 hours away and going to that game. The university actually still has lower level seats left.

Okay, didn’t want to do this because I don’t like for folks to suffer, but bashing boomers means that you can’t have your other hip replacement. Boomers designed all the THA systems and decided that you can’t have another one.
Oh and a mob of angry old men are now on the way to “repo” the one that you have now.

Good luck trying to outrun them. You will basically just run in little circles until they catch you.

😳
Ehh...there's a shade tree mechanic i know of near me that I'll bet can put something together from an old buick he has all McGyver style and fix me up. Us GenXers survived with Boomers as our parents. We can survive anything.

My retirement job, just as a hobby, would be rude people greeter at walmart or work at a Lowes or Home Depot and purposely give bad advice and send people down the wrong aisles.
That is all the employee at Lowe’s and Home Depot now. Two examples:

1. I was looking at storage buildings and wanted to talk to someone. I asked an employee who to talk too about the storage buildings. She told me that they didn’t carry them. I told her that they were literally right behind her.( I was in the garden center)

2. I asked an employee where were the cabinets that stood above toilet located. He scratched his head and said “welp, you have got me on that one buddy.”

both centers hire contracted 'muscle' for the season. unless folks have some know how they are usually clueless.

we bought storage shed from lowe's using gift cards. went to lowe's, they were.... clueless. one person was 'knew little bit' about them. had to wait on them, they then informed me they don't carry many of the sheds in stock. i'd have to order online.

then told me i'd need to build a platform. since sheds have them, some are hollow in bottom.

oh! and the shed would be have to be putv together.

i asked if they could do it. they said, maybe. sometimes they will put together if I buy in store. but i'd still have to have a flat concrete or wood base.

several weeks later, and an entire weekend we received our order in the email. we had it shipped to the store to avoid shipping, and so they could take the 5% lowe's card discount off.

guess what? there was one person who knows how to do that. and had to wait a long time for them to do that.

then they struggled getting the gift cards to work.

oh, don't worry. we (wife) opted not to pay them to put it together. we have kids, so, it took about two full days to assemble

in short, take the time to plan it out. take your measurements and buy as big as you can.

build your platform off the ground, ensure its where it will always be. there is permanence.

I would recommend spending the extra money. Height wise you can always go taller, than deeper.

There are dozens of local wood shed builders. Who may be able to custom make one. Wish I had spent the coin for nicer one.

Good luck getting a door greeter job at Walmart, that position no longer exist...
I don't know of any law that says an old codger can't just stand near the door and "greet" folks.
a man in a suit and tie sits at a desk with the words i don 't even really work here above him
