I don’t think I ever truly appreciated how much Ryne Sandberg was appreciated by baseball fans until I started hearing people talk about him the past few days. I’ve seen his stats and they don’t really blow you away looking at them at face value until you remember he was a second baseman but I also wasn’t really old enough to remember watching him play. He was at the tail end of his career for me. The more I hear people talking about him though, the more I think he probably would have been one of my favorite baseball players growing up. I know Father Time comes for us all but it’s still sad whenever beloved figures pass. And I know we aren’t suppose to idolize these players but whenever they play for your favorite team for so long and especially if they played whenever you are growing up, they just naturally imprint on you even if you never meet them a day in your life. I know I cried like a little baby whenever Kobe passed even though I never met him. He helped me fall in love with the sport of basketball so I felt a certain way about him that I didn’t feel for anyone else. His passing was a little different situation with it being unexpected but anytime someone passes it is still sad nevertheless. And I’ll do the same whenever Chipper and Peyton pass, God willing I’m able to make it that long. But it’s also a time for celebration and thinking back to all the good memories you have about that person. So I hope all the Cubs fans are doing well during this time and hopefully they have a great finish to their season 🙏

“We're planning on going to The Peddler. I've seen the Breakfast Camp one. I'll push for it. Thanks!”
The Breakfast Camp was shockingly good. If they like to fish, they stock rainbows in the stream (West Prong of Little Pigeon River) that runs thru downtown Gburg. Special license required but can buy a day license online.
