Israel vs Palestinians

You realize this is not about curriculum, right? Not even sure why the holocaust needs to be mentioned in a teacher's union handbook.

We're talking about mass murdering little children and Dalton shows up pressed about an omission in a union fkn handbook.

Think of everything you see palestinians or hamas do. Whether it is a response to Israel or provoke Israel. Doesn't matter. Those things are not part of the plan of peaceful, passive existence. If they are peaceful and passive while Israel is still aggressive, they expedite the support they would generate.
I said the PA, which is the Palestinian Authority, the group that nominally rules the West Bank. Them being doormats the last 30 years or so hasn't done their people any good.

So weird, right?

Israel v Palestinians is very complex, but there is a really easy way to break it down. If any of us were Palestinian, there is no way we'd be taking Israel's side, but many, many Israelis and Jewish-Americans are opposing Israel.

Do that easy math.

@Vol8188 @Orangeslice13 you will find this interesting. We have the receipts.

Went down a rabbit hole after Huffs post.

Hani Almadhoun has spread hatred of Israel and shown support for anti-Israel agitators. Almadhoun is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS)movement.
Almadhoun's anti-Israel activism occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas, which Israel launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnappedhundreds.
As of June 2025, Almadhoun was listed as senior director of philanthropy at United Nations Relief Works Agency USA (UNRWA USA).
The United Nations Relief Works Agency (UNRWA) has been infiltrated by Palestinian terrorist organizations to wage war against Israel under the guise of UN immunities.
UNRWA employs terrorists who indoctrinate children to hate Jews and kill Israelis. UNRWA facilities, schools and medical clinics are systematically usedas terrorist command centers and weapons depots.
UNRWA also provided electricity to Hamas’s main data center and UNRWA employees have kidnapped and held hostage Israeli civilians.
As of June 2025, Almadhoun's LinkedIn profile said he graduated from Brigham Young University (BYU) with a master's degree in public administration in 2007.
As of the same date, Almadhoun's LinkedIn said he was located in Washington, DC.

HATRED OF ISRAEL
On June 26, 2025, during Israel's war against Hamas terrorists, Almadhoun posted on Facebook: "...The most horrific, systematic violence being inflicted on us — is by Israel...This is the machinery of occupation. Of apartheid. Of settler colonialism...our suffering...is designed. It is manufactured. And it comes from the outside in..."

On October 7, 2023, Hamas murderedapproximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnappedhundreds and wounded thousands. War crimes included mass rape and torture. Many Palestinian civilians participated in and supported the attacks, and Gazans working in the targeted Israeli communities gave intelligence to Hamas on where to strike.
For more information, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.
On June 7, 2025, Almadhoun posted on Facebook, accusing Israel of committing "genocide" in its war against Hamas in Gaza.

On May 16, 2025, Almadhoun posted on Facebook, accusing Israeli army of committing "ethnic cleansing" in Gaza.

On February 5, 2025, Almadhoun spoke as a representative of UNRWA USA at the 421st meeting of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP) at the UN.

During his speech, Almadhoun promoted[00:06:34] the idea of "Nakba" and expressed support for the Palestinian "right of return."

The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by drawing a comparison to the Holocaust, known in Hebrew as the Shoah, meaning “catastrophe.”
The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel. International law mandates no absolute right of return and UN Resolution 194, which defined principles for “refugees wishing to return to their homes,” was unanimously rejected by Arab nations following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.

No it’s not.
I know people who still live there and they’re asking questions about this too. Like why is he having his wedding in a place that is not the place he wants to run?
Speaks to his motives.

Just because you excuse it doesn’t mean it’s not a legitimate question for others and it’s certainly not a lie when you are reporting facts.
'Why is his wedding not where he's running for office?' is an outlandish made up concern. It's not at all a legitimate question.

The Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs (which is an Israeli think tank*) found that 30% of Jewish-Americans think Israel is committing genocide....and this survey was taken May 2024.

Removes the mention of Jews from the holocaust and instead it’s now 12 million of all faiths.

But

The book does, however, give a lengthy description of its plans to "educate members and the general public about the history of the Palestinian Nakba," while presenting a skewed version of Israel's founding that demonizes the Jewish state.

On the same page, the NEA outlines as another priority the task of teaching its members that anti-Zionism is not anti-Semitism.

I blew up about 20 of his BS posts. I don’t waste time reading them anymore.

We just had an act of terror by a sanctioned, illegal settler, murdering a prominent Palestinian political figure in the West Bank, and they're treating it less than an accidental shooting.

Yeah, things are going great for the passive Palestinians.

You have a tendency to be exceptionally obtuse in these discussions. Let me try to understand your building blocks to your thoughts so I can possibly understand you better...
Are you saying the approach of peaceful protest / existence doesn't work for anyone? Or, are you saying it has not worked for the palestinian people?

What an ignorant thing to say. There’s plenty of Palestinians that oppose their government, plenty that fled prior to 10/7 because of the oppression they faced from their government.

Not to mention your post is implying they don’t oppose them, so I guess you agree that Palestinians really are just Hamas

same question to you as Eastern if you want to discuss.

I would say of course peaceful protest can work. I'm not sure that an entire nation peacefully protesting an oppressor has ever worked.

On the individual level, plenty of Palestinians are peaceful protesters. Hell, a lot of them aren't even protesters. They're under the rubble, just the same as the radical rebels.

I would offer Ghandi as an example of this concept on a national scale.

Since you say peaceful protests can work, are you under the impression that they won't work for palestinians in their fight with Israel?

There was a ton of violence and violent protests during India's struggle for independence. Ghandi himself wasn't totally opposed to violence when the situation called for it.

Candace Owens desperately tries to push Harvey Weinstein into admitting Jewish... "Zionist"... Israeli... complicity in his downfall.

Wait until the very end to see how her efforts backfire horrendously!

Quite possibly her most epic self-own yet...

Would you agree that Ghandi's preference would be to hold to the ideal of non violent protest whenever prudent?

Ghandi's peaceful protests worked to get a lot of attention, alongside violent protests, which were a big problem for the British.

I don't know what you mean by national scale, but I wouldn't call it that.

I mean, one of the biggest reasons Britain backed off is they were worried things would escalate with the support of Japan leading up to WWII.

I think Ghandi's methods worked to draw attention, alongside the violent resistance. It's a nice narrative to simplify and credit him alone, but I don't think that's the reality.

Now let's say Palestinians are mostly taking the Ghandi route, but we still have terrorist acts, just like we did in India. There is nothing in their short history that would suggest to me Israel would stop occupying and oppressing Palestinians.

Drawing attention is precisely the point. The post that proceeded this discussion of peaceful protests was about the options to accomplish change a small opponent with fewer resources has when facing a bigger, stronger foe. There are only a few viable options. One of which is to attract support from others. On of the better ways to accomplish that is through nonviolent protests.

We have already established an agreement that the method works. We are unresolved on whether Ghandi / India did that on a national scale and through non violent means.

Are you under the impression it will not work for the palestinians because there will be pockets of terrorism conducted by palestinians?

I think the same can be said of the civil rights movement in america. MLKjr pursued non violent exposure to garner support by those largely unaffected by the issue. All the while, some violence was common in the areas after the marches and rallies were concluded. Most people looked at the actions of a few rabble rousers as separate. They didn't hold that against the entire effort.

For many reasons, but yeah that's one of them. Israel will never let up as long as there are terrorists to fight.

But I also think Palestinian protests are especially impotent. How can they draw more attention with peaceful protests than they are right now getting genocided, and the US leadership still strongly supports Israel.

Like, what's a voluntary hunger strike going to do when imposed famine doesn't move the meter? We're a year into genocide. 6 months into famine. That's got the power of a million hunger strikes. We're still funding the ethnic cleansing. Hell, the Babylon Bee is making jokes about the starving. They're not going to GAF about peaceful protesters.
