“Fed Governor Christopher Waller and the Fed’s Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle Bowman, both appointed by President Donald Trump, chose to dissent, preferring a quarter-point rate cut instead of holding steady.”

****ing blowtards trying to get Powells job.

Why are they blowtards? Is it because they may be tired of the politics Powell is playing?

Oh and End the Fed!

The Fed raises rate rates to reduce economic expansion. So if things are overheating in the economy… is overheating they’ll raise the rates to slow things down.

that doesnt answer my question..their justification is they can control tariff price rises with a higher rate

Tell me… what is Powells motivation to defy Trump… the man that appointed him.

Because he's being told to.

The man who claimed covid inflation was "transitory" and wouldn't raise rates when inflation was going through the roof but now refuses to consider a reduction because we MIGHT see inflation in the future is taking orders and playing politics. And yes Trump made some terrible appointments in his first term, Powell being one of them.

like i said. you are waste of time
Are you formally educated in economics with real world experience using it in your profession? Have you ever negotiated an international supply chain agreement in your profession? It's experience that has been directly affected by exchange rates and tariffs. It's not an ideological position to understand how it is implemented and the effects upon a given high volume industry and the economy as a whole.

🤣 I responded to "you don't know what". I answered that with some quality questions and details as to why someone might be fairly informed on the matter as someone with neither education and/or first hand experience
