It’s you excuse making. An off duty officer was shot in the face last week in NYC. Glad this week you found sympathy towards officers.

It is truly difficult to stop a loon from doing something like this. How many people watched this evil doer walk by with a weapon like it was normal? How was this guy still on the streets? It sounds like the system is failing when some of these loose cannons can be identified before it reaches this conclusion.

He will find out about Hell sooner rather than later.

I think bringing in some type of progression system would be better. Everyone starts at some level above solitary confinement, but below where we are today. then over time, like maybe 6 month periods, if you stay on good behavior, no drugs, no issues, you get some benefit. another 6 months you get something else. something that shows over time that good behavior is rewarded; and that you have to earn the perks. they should never be expected. and yeah you can lose them too.

I would also throw in for some of the best behaviors CC style classes that can fold into some co-op type work once you are out of prison. I think the fact that most people have zero options coming out of the prison system is part of the issue, I would also seal their record once they are out. once they have done the time they shouldn't be punished any more. maybe work in something with the behavior on that.

obviously there is a cap on how "good" things get, and some crimes should be kept from some options.

I definitely agree with the bottom, I would also say prison laborers should be paid actual wages instead of pennies. Maybe automatically put half into an account they can access when they’re released. Prisoners are 10x more likely to end up homeless

the way the system works now it is incredibly difficult for an ex-con to live anything close to a normal life, and when it comes to survival they have no choice but to go back to their ways or join and gang and the such.

I wouldn't mind some type of work co-op program like that with wages being withheld from their access, they are in prison. but yeah full wage. I would see it being released after they complete any probation that is part of the sentencing. maybe give some break to the employers to incentivize them.

Let’s rephrase it this way…..“would YOU, EasternVol, be statisified in the least if this was the grocery store at which you shopped“?
We can argue semantics all day about the context of „completely“; but no sane person is going to be happy shopping at a store whether or not it only stocks zero rotten peaches vs a dozen rotten peaches.
Or are you claiming to state this this store is somehow successful?

what are people going to do? the only pictures I have seen didn't show people hanging around. all they could do is call the cops, and as the saying goes: when seconds matter the cops are minutes away. its not like NYC is very friendly to cases of self defense, or defense of others.

they have punished "good" behavior because it wasn't the best possible outcome in their opinion, to the point where "good" is no longer worth it.

I have no idea whether I'd want to shop there since I haven't seen a fair description of the store or even confirmation that it exists. The only thing I've seen is a propaganda piece slanted to make one political candidate look bad.
