How about you?

Nah. I like some better than others, of course, but that's relative and none enough to bother with it.

You like some better but never visited?

If I understand your post correctly, what's the basis for liking some if you've never been?

Presidents. I like some Presidents better than other Presidents. But that's like saying I like some sushi better than other sushi. I wouldn't go out of my way to go get sushi because, blech.

I went to the Truman library. It was interesting, but the Churchill bunker in London a much more interesting. There is a copilot that I flew with that has visited all but 1 of the libraries while he was on layovers. He said a couple of them required renting a car and driving for a couple hours, but still he did it on Delta's time. Pretty cool actually.

I think if you are a fan of that particular president, and you wanted to deep dive the history it would be worthwhile, and you pretty much can't do anything in a single day. I'm guessing the Biden library will be online.

I don't even know what a presidential library is for.
Is it a tourist attraction? A place to collect memorabilia? Do they work to expand a presidential legacy?

What's their purpose?

Was there anything that stuck with you from Truman's library?

A president generates a gazillion pages of documents and it is a repository for that where 'scholars' can study them. I'm the car of the Truman library there was a nice exhibit in the white house renovation that took place whole he was in office. They pretty much gutted the place. And then of course there was the bomb thingy.

The renovation was really interesting, and his history as a politician. He caught someone's eye early on, and the right people backed him. I don't remember much of the facts, but if I do remember correctly, he kind of backed into high power politics.

Any other libraries on your bucket list?

I think I must know somebody that did. I can't remember who. But I don't see me ever doing that myself.

Never been to one. Always thought it’s one of the biggest wastes of money that there is. Can’t imagine anybody is interested.

Deleted my post bc it was kinda off topic and didnt wanna mess up a McDad thread.

Nope I have never been but would like to go to one of the older ones. From back when people had class and tried to do things the right way. I bet the older libraries are quite nice indeed.

You should check out a sushi library in Japan.

It isn't a bucket list thing. I have a lot of relatives around the Kansas City area... (yeah, they are all Chiefs fans too). Sometime when I am up there though I would like to drive over to Abilene, KS where the Eisenhower library is. I think the WW2 memorabilia alone would make that one worth the trip.
