Photographer documents al-Sahaba Market filled with Israeli produce, canned goods, and customers paying in shekels, amid claims of starvation and famine.​

Gazan photographer Majdi Fathi, who works for the TPSagency, toured the streets of Gaza City on Monday and documented the al-Sahaba Market.

The documentation shows dozens of locals buying and walking through the fruit and vegetable market, where some of the produce is visibly from Israel. Customers are seen paying with Israeli currency, and Israeli canned goods are seen among the stalls.

Over the past day, in accordance with the directives from the political echelon and as part of the cooperation between Israel, the UAE, and Jordan, the IDF, led by COGAT, is continuing the series of actions aimed at improving the humanitarian response in the Gaza Strip.

Over the past few hours, 20 aid packages, containing food for the residents of both the southern and northern Gaza Strip, were airdropped.

Beginning on Sunday, the IDF implemented a daily humanitarian pause from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in several populated areas across Gaza, including in the north, to facilitate the entry of aid. The pause will also take effect in areas where the IDF is currently operating, including in Gaza City, where fighting will be temporarily halted to allow the entry of aid.

Witnessing the catastrophic hunger and suffering of civilians, especially children, women, the sick and elderly, in Gaza has been heartbreaking. The crisis in Gaza must be met with an immediate and drastic surge in life-saving resources, such as desperately needed food, water, and medicine–including therapeutic foods for those suffering from severe malnutrition. It is our collective moral duty to ensure that humanitarian relief reaches those who need it most urgently.

The strategy of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has not worked. Proven methods to get humanitarian aid to those in need while preventing diversion to Hamas must be used to flood the zone now. Every moment of delay will cost lives and cause irreparable harm to the health of children, pregnant women, and other civilians.

We must do all we can to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza as part of the strategy to save lives, decrease Hamas’s influence and capabilities, release all remaining hostages, strengthen Israel’s security, and ultimately end this war. These goals are not mutually exclusive, rather they go hand-in-hand.

You can see that whoever posted the picture was quote tweeting Booker's actual tweet.
