Allen is fine as a defensive wizard bench player that gets less than 80 PAs a year. But if he's starting for your team for an extended period of time, you are definitely in some trouble.Out of all the ridiculous things this season , parading Nick Allen out there everyday takes the cake. Dude will be lucky to be in AA somewhere next year
pretty wild arm talent play considering all of his body weight is going the opposite direction and he still drops it where only Ridley could make a play. Obviously that play gets blown up in a game but I’m looking at the throw itselfI personally don't care about these sort of plays. With the defense barreling in, that sort of play will get Ward blew up against a defense that can actually hit him. I care about whether or not he can read a defense and call a hot route when he needs to and what whether or not he knows when to check down. It's hard to get a read on that in practice.
Players are right. Nice to hear Castellanos is the voice of calm. I’d listen to a salary cap if there was a salary floor, relegation, no profit sharing or whatever to force out the A’s and Pirates. And for the players, get rid of Arb years or something that gets them paid their worth during their peak years.
I'm not really sure what you expect from a back-up SS.
If he had a .650 OPS or better, he wouldn't be back-up with that sort of defense.
