Looks like we play TSU in 2027, possibly in new Nashville stadium

The agreement is for the game to be played in Knoxville. Why would Tennessee move a home game to Nashville?
Tennessee State? At a neutral field? That makes ZERO sense!
I think the original poster’s presumption was “TSU is in Nashville, they’re building a new stadium in Nashville, so maybe we’ll play in the new stadium?”

(not that it makes any sense)

Here come the whiners to complain about a game in Nashville in 3...2...1... Remember people they are called the TENNESSEE Volunteers, not the Knoxville Volunteers.
Doesn’t look like the game’s in Nashville. The game’s agreement is for Knoxville.

Makes plenty of sense. You will have 3 "buy" games. Might as well make the "buy game" as cheap as possible, get as close to a guaranteed win as possible, and keep the money in state ...

I mean why even attend these games? It's hot, a forgone conclusion and nothing more than a glorified practice.

Until fans stop going to these games, they will have them.

These types of games are the only chance many people have to see a game in Neyland...

I hate having more than 1 buy game but the way the playoff is set up, there's no incentive to schedule a team with a pulse (see Indiana last year)

If by chance they moved the game to Nashville it’s not a bad move. Chances are it would be an early season game and in the new indoor stadium. If any of you went to the Vols v Virginia game you’ll remember how brutally hot it was.

It was miserable.

That being said, with what we now pay for season tickets, I'm not a fan of moving any game to a neutral site.

Its basically a charity game. No way to win with these type games. You know its not going to be competitive, will not be on TV and a lot of the season ticket holders either sell or give away their tickets. Only positives I see is the school gets a big check to show up for a beat down and lot of fans who normally can't get tickets can.
Don’t follow football much do you. All SEC games are on TV.

The money scrimmage games should always be against state schools in Tennessee IMO…

Have you seen Indiana's non conference schedule?

The next 4 years are a compete joke.

If we had Indiana's schedule every year, we would be in the playoffs every year.

They took control of UT Nashville a few years ago and quickly ran a booming institution into the ground.
They are now trying to sell the property.
There’s more to it than that. But yes, that’s the way our local media has portrayed it.

Also, it was more than a “few years ago.” It was a few decades ago. So let’s not pretend that a) any of the people involved with that are still affiliated with TSU or b) that somehow justifies the state withholding money it owes the school.

Also Auburn
Leave it to South Carolina to screw up a good thing.
Never should have been allowed to join the conference, and there are a few others I'd like to see leave with them.
The only worst fanbase in the country is Ohio State.
