President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

what a dumb tweet.

Tariffs are not the economy.
government revenue is also not the economy.

what a weird thing to hold up as an example of how well the "economy" is doing.

really this is just telling you how much more money American's are being forced to give the government. and I very much doubt there is any offset in a similar increase in US gdp, or wage growth, to offset these higher taxes.
I DID NOT DO THIS to display how the economy is doing. Someone said this board has never discussed how tariffs are going to ”destroy” the economy and I was only pointing out that it had been posted.

I f you are talking about my post .... I asked specifically WHO has said that the tariffs were going to destroy the economy, but never got a response. Everything is always "they."

LOL. I sense a lot of projection here ....

That could be the only way to come up with such detailed attacks against someone you don't know/have never met .... I'm sorry if you really are as lonely as someone who posts over 50 messages per day (every damn day) to a sub-forum of a college sports team's web site would appear to be .... but hey, you still have your cult of personality brethren to lean on.
LMAO ... you still hanging around here begging me for my attention. What a loser you must be in real life. People don't want to talk w/a deranged democrat loser like you who is constantly on here showing it on full display.

There are a number of people on both sides of the isle (and on the board) that have said tariffs will have a negative impact on the economy. That post injected “destroy” into the conversation.

There were many pundits (don't know about this board in particular) who warned of steep inflation, recessions, even depressions. As usual, the "experts" were wrong.

There will be inflation .... You can't disrupt the supply chain, and not have an increase in prices, if demand is held constant. Importers have done a good job of offsetting costs, but that isn't indefinite.

You do realize you are mocked for the majority of your posts that don't include smoking meat right? Even by your MAGA allies. You fall for the dumbest crap on the internet
Why don't you go back to drinking more of your toilet water like you've been doing.
We'll call you when needed sometime later after midnight. TIA.

Provide quarter this will happen. When?

You may be right but I think it’s important that if you make a claim you back it up with a timeframe.

Also, I am curious. Trump used tariffs in his first administration yet inflation was always kept low. What makes you so confident that will not be the case this time?

I really want to understand your thouights.

I haven't seen any. Time will tell I suppose, but as of now, nada. Will people still be claiming inflation is coming a year from now if we haven't seen anything significant?

You can't decrease the supply of a good and hold demand constant ..... and not increase the price of the good in question. Indeed, time will tell.

No ..... I don't have a crystal ball, just an understanding of a basic principle of economics.

Me too that is why I asked. Why do you think this inflation did not appear in Trumps first term?

So the tariffs could be blamed for any inflation between now and the next 6? 8? 10? years????

^^^^ Forbes from 2021 ^^^^

You shouldn't just consider inflation, and inflation alone, when analyzing the impact of tariffs .... but Trump's tariffs did lead to an increase in prices.

Trump Taco'ed on his BAT proposal in 2017 and his tarrifs in 1.0 were fairly tame in comparison to his proposals now...

Inflation is a lagging effect. That's even more important to understand. His tariff policy his first term was certain had somewhat of a triggering effect to inflation.
