Ryan Prager selected by the Guardians.... talk about a cautionary tale. He turned down 3rd round signing money with the Angels last year, came back to A&M and let Earley stink him up to the point where he goes at the end of the 9th round and loses out on a **** ton of slot money

probably lost $600K and a year of earning. But rumor is his NIL deal to return to A&M was pretty huge. Still think he lost out by returning though.

This has to be the best roster Tony has had on paper yet. The way he cleaned up in the portal this offseason was the envy of the country. He constantly went up the biggest schools for big time transfers and landed most of the ones he went after. It's been remarkable to witness.

Dude lived his life and made a decision that didn't turn out perfect; but giving it one more run at the natty is something worth celebrating. Consequences of our decisions are often unknown but we must keep in view the intention of that decision.

There isn't a pre-determined slot value after the 10th Round. But that doesn't mean they wouldn't get a value if that's what you mean.

I believe they got a bunch of their higher round guys for under slot, which freed up money to sign Dickey over slot.

$150K doesn’t count against your slot and you can use any available slot money to sign folks in 11th round. Last year, IIRC one gent signed for over $1.5M.

We need Lefties out of the bullpen. So if Arvy starts, you probably want Blanco in the pen. But I'm guessing it's the opposite. Blanco starts, Arvy out of the pen, giving us, as lefties out of the pen, Arvy, Blaine Brown, Mark Hindy, and (hopefully) Appenzeller. Chandler Day is an incoming freshman LHP, but I don't think he's expected to contribute. William Haas is another, but he had TJ surgery.

I think a team will definitely draft Ford as a back up plan if they can't get one of their top guys to sign, or if they get some guys to take under slot deals to try and get him in...we shall see!

Arvidson will get every opportunity to be a starter. As long as he looks like the last 3-4 weeks Brandon, I think he starts.
