The Atlanta Braves - Hello darkness my old friend

11-23 in 1 run games

12 under .500 with a positive run differential.

Michael Harris is 17 for 110 since June 1st and hasn’t drawn a walk since 5/18.

He has to be investigated for gambling. You would have to draw a walk by accident at some point.

We have done an awesome job at destroying our player's confidence this season. From Harris, to Fuentes, to Kelenic.

Just a PHENOMENAL job by our coaching staff and FO.

His wRC+ is 44. What the organization is doing to them is malpractice. There is absolutely zero way he should take another MLB at bat until September.

The Fuentes thing was a desperation move. Not sure where they even start with Harris. There’s underperforming and then there’s flat out being noncompetitive. Who has ever even heard of an MLB hitter going 150 ABs without taking a walk?! Has he really lost all semblance of plate discipline or was he screwed up by somebody telling him to be more aggressive?

Nick Allen- 273 PA's- 69 wRC+
Ozzie Albies- 371 PA's- 73 wRC+
Eli White- 189 PA's- 82 wRC+
Jarred Kelenic- 65 PA's- 44 wRC+
Bryan De La Cruz- 50 PA's- 27 wRC+
Stuart Fairchild- 55 PA's- 68 wRC+
Alex Verdugo- 213 PA's- 67 wRC+
Michael Harris- 356 PA's- 44 wRC+

1,572 of PA's of bad to terrible. And that doesn't include Marcell who has been a zero for two months.

Agreed. This isn’t a slump, it’s straight up ineptitude.

If he wasn't signed long-term, I wouldn't care as much. He's under team control with (not insane but significant) money committed through 2030. You have to take care of him. This isn't working. Having him flail about every night with no plan, no confidence is hurting the organization and him.

Also doesn’t include Arcia’s ABs. That’s probably half the ABs for the team this season that are total give aways.

To expound, the Braves have had a total of 3,123 PA's. Including 59 PA's from randoms, 52.2% of their PA's are from players who are at least 20% below league average.

It's over half. I didn't include 59 PA's from Arcia, Luke Williams, Rosario types.

To expound, the Braves have had a total of 3,123 PA's. So over 50% of their PA's are from players who are at least 20% below league average.

To put this into perspective, in 2023, the Braves only had 5.4% of their PA's from guys who were 20% below league average.

Send Harris down

Trade ozzie, ozuna and every single member of the bullpen you possibly can (whatever you do, do NOT look at the bullpen contract situations)

Play Baldwin and Murphy every day

Put Strider on ice ~130 innings

I don’t think anything else matters

Forty-two POINT five million United States of America dollars for an absolute **** tank bullpen

FRANK WREN WOULD NEVER

For 42.5 million dollars you could have freddie freeman, Dansby Swanson and the Gwinnett stripers bullpen

You guys wanna keep max fried or light money on fire?

Who’s excited to pay Sean Murphy $15mn in 2029?

I’m sure Austin Riley will age nicely in 2033.

I totally forgot Pierce had a club option. They're definitely not trading him. Good Lord.

The points about the bullpen are good. But We shouldn’t complain about positional players aging badly. You either pay for bad aging years, or stay out of the FA or near FA game altogether. And I don’t think you compete without sprinkling in some well timed FAs. Totally agree that throwing good money at bullpen arms is fireable.
