The Atlanta Braves - Hello darkness my old friend

It's on everybody

Ownership- Cut $30M from payroll to get under the luxury tax, doesn't pressure front office to improve
Front Office- Terrible job around the margins, ignored obvious holes, below average farm system
Manager- Terrible decision making, stupid ass quotes, no fire
Players- No accountability, no personal responsibility to improve their game, no leadership
Coaching/Development- Stagnant player improvement, no streamlined plan, lack of self-awareness
I’m going ownership. If you choose to avoid FA and your own FA approaching players, there’s only so much everybody else can do. You are expecting them to all be the best at their job, and that’s not a reasonable approach. I want a billionaire owner.

I think we are still top 10 in payroll. If you want to blame ownership for cutting payroll after losing the division and not winning a playoff game, that's fine. If you want to blame them for not putting pressure on AA to make moves, that's fine. Trying to hold them as the biggest culprit and saying you want a singular, billionaire owner is misplaced.

Depends on the billionaire owner.

Doesn’t necessarily take a billionaire owner. It’s just better to not be a piece of a non-local; publicly held company.

I'd rather have a bad year because a billionaire owner took a big swing trying to make the team better and missed, rather than because a corporate overlord wanted to make the margins look a little better at their parent company for a couple of quarters and cut payroll, despite the GM publicly claiming that he's got money to spend.

If AA had permission from corporate to spend more and didn't, particularly to improve SS/LF/bullpen, then that's on him. I kind of doubt that though.

It’s possible to both have the stuff and not be comfortable against the best in the world yet. He should still be in AA — it’s pretty unfair to the newly 20 year old.

Everyone agrees Caminiti is the best prospect in the org. and has fantastic stuff. What would happen if they rushed him to the league? He’d get torched all the same.
Fuentes had turned 20 like two weeks before he was called up. He wasn't ready despite how good he was pitching. They could have easily called up Lara, Caminiti, Ritchie, Murphy or Sinnard and be in the same position they are now.

Really glad we didn’t trade AJSS, who blew his arm out and part-time C Drake Baldwin for Kyle Tucker and his 152 wRC+. Hate to have a 4 WAR LF on the team!

Approaching FA. Giving up cost controlled assets for a short term rental is not in the corporate handbook.

Owen Murphy hasn’t thrown a pitch this season because he had Tommy John surgery.
