The Atlanta Braves - Hello darkness my old friend

I know they won't fire Snit and they already scapegoated Tuiasasopo, but I cannot believe Hyers is still here. What has happened to Mikey and Riley alone is fireable, let alone the whole team's approach.

To be clear

They did not scapegoat Tuiasasopo. The guy was absolutely horrendous.

The Albies question is interesting. Because the option is only $7M, he's beloved, he has a track record, and they owe him $4M no matter what. But he can't play anything outside of 2B. His statcast numbers show he is cooked. His defense isn't good enough on its own. I don't know, they'll pick it up I'm sure but I would have a viable backup plan (HA) for next year.

Backup plan?????

Buddy we don’t have original plans for half the field!

Someone mentioned that major moves regarding staff changes or major trades won't come until after the ASG. Snit is an honorary coach and the ASG game is in ATL.

I find it unlikely they fire Snit before the end of the season anyways. If it was gonna be done, it should have been after our 2nd 7 game losing streak to have has any affect on the season.

The most we'll get is an announcement in September (or maybe late August) that Snit is retiring after the season. Which is widely suspected already anyway.

Not even trolling, does your eyes tell you he has 3 plus pitches right now currently??
It’s possible to both have the stuff and not be comfortable against the best in the world yet. He should still be in AA — it’s pretty unfair to the newly 20 year old.

Everyone agrees Caminiti is the best prospect in the org. and has fantastic stuff. What would happen if they rushed him to the league? He’d get torched all the same.

Atlanta Braves: F

Based on preseason expectations, the Braves have clearly been the biggest disappointment in the National League -- fighting the Orioles for most disappointing overall.

What's gone wrong? They haven't scored runs, as the offense continues its remarkable fade from a record-setting performance just two seasons ago. The collapses of Michael Harris II and Ozzie Albies lead the way, with lack of production at shortstop and left field playing a big role as well. Closer Raisel Iglesias has struggled, and the team is 11-22 in one-run games. Spencer Strider hasn't yet reached his pre-injury level and Reynaldo Lopez made just one start before going down.

The Braves haven't missed the playoffs since 2017, but that run is clearly in jeopardy.

F is putting it lightly

The most disappointing season in recent memory of any franchise
I know each team got just a brief, high-level blurb, but it could have mentioned that the total lack of production at SS and LF is our GM's fault. Most of it is on players who just haven't performed to anywhere near what they're capable of.

I actually don't know how much of this is on Snit, probably not all that much, but his demeanor during the whole thing is just ridiculous.

It's on everybody

Ownership- Cut $30M from payroll to get under the luxury tax, doesn't pressure front office to improve
Front Office- Terrible job around the margins, ignored obvious holes, below average farm system
Manager- Terrible decision making, stupid ass quotes, no fire
Players- No accountability, no personal responsibility to improve their game, no leadership
Coaching/Development- Stagnant player improvement, no streamlined plan, lack of self-awareness

Ramon Laureano rocking a 137 wRC+, boy would have been nice to have him for 3 months at $4M! Too bad we non-tendered him!
Who could have seen that coming!!! He was only hitting the piss out of the ball and it wasn’t falling

I'm not sure. If instead of his grandpa-like, "let's get 'em tomorrow" demeanor he was super engaged, do you really think their record is any better? They'd still be dealing with the bad FO decisions and the injuries.

Would Mike be hitting better if Snit was more fiery?

Either be a man and retire or take ownership of the situation, win a playoff series and force them to give you an extension. This whole pouting around and not giving a **** about what you do or say is ruining his "legacy" around the franchise. I was not the biggest fan of him, but how's he conducted himself this year has really made me think of him less as a man.

And also, I'm still waiting on Austin Riley to be benched after he stared down a flyball and cost himself a double last week.

Probably not, but go listen to how Aaron Boone and Pat Murphy and Craig Counsell and Alex Cora and AJ Hinch talk about hitting and then listen to Snit talk about hitting. You'll think Snit was your grandma watching the Braves on the couch compared to those guys.

The list goes on and on. We are in the stone ages compared to the rest of the league with our approach to hitting

How can they watch Ozzie over and over with that stupid over exaggerated leg kick get out on his front foot and pop up 3500 times and not make him do something different?
