I would suspect that as a deep fake if she hadn't have suddenly realized in the middle of that, what an incredibly stupid thing she'd said, and started stuttering around it. The danger there is that one sentence is so incredibly stupid, it takes away from how stupid several other sentences were.

I’m using your stated standard. Never proclaimed it to be mine. You said if they cared about legal immigration they’d hire more judges. I’ve never stated that.

You believe 1.25 billion and they’re not going to hire a single additional judge with it? Stop embarrassing yourself.

You cherry-picked a small portion of that article to emphasize. It also includes this :

"The timing and language of forecasts and warnings was already receiving significant scrutiny and criticism on Saturday, as state and Trump administration officials emphasized how the flooding far surpassed what been predicted."

The biggest point of criticism is not with the warning, but rather how the forecasts for rain badly underestimated the torrential downpour that was coming.

Random anecdote - I remember that saga vividly. I was 15 yrs old a year later in ‘95 when my sister and I were presented with 2 options for the next three years: Singapore or The Hague.

I made my opinion heard lol. We ended up learning Dutch.

When the Trump administration extended an exemption of the federal hiring freeze to the NOAA (and in turn, the National Weather Service) in June, that was a tacit admission that DOGE had gone overboard with their layoffs at the agency.

It's not cutting a dollar that bothers me. It's what we're using those dollars cut for. We can't afford to help poor people or working class people and we have to cut "waste" so we can't have accurate forecasts but there is plenty of money for deporting people and making weapons of war.
